    Hello all,

I wonder whether or where's the difference between the distributor caps for electronic ignition or breaker contacts version.
At least Ferrari lists two different parts numbers for them.
Does anyone know any details ?
Occasionally some come up on ebay, but no seller can state whether it's electronic or contacts.

    Best Regards from Germany

The electronic ignition cap has two small rectangular holes at the base of the cap for the electronic sensor wires to leave the distributor. The single breaker cap does not have these. I mistakenly bought the wrong one and had to do some slight modification with a small file, but otherwise has worked well for the last three years. That is the only difference that I know of.

I have heard prices up to $225 for a usa 308. I went to the Norwood single distributor conversion for the $26 dollar cap, single distributor simplicity, elimination of the points with a magnetic pickup and near stock, (euro) appearance. Parts should be available just about anywhere. cheap.

over here there are Alfa dealers - the single dist. breaker version cap is the same like on the Montreal - who charge EUR 355,--. These are around $ 440,-- with today's currency conversion rate.
