As far as I know, only cars like the 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo come standard from the factory with Scuderia Shields. Since 1998, it has been an option on all other Ferrari models. Expect to pay a couple hundred bucks.

You can also install them on baby carriages, SUV's, Subaru's and Vespas. See the other thread.

When you see a F car without the wing badge then it seems that something is missing.

They're just too blingy for my taste. Besides, they create a visual distraction which spoils the beautiful lines.

I ordered my 360 without them and if I decide to order a 430, it will also be without them. Your taste may vary. :)

I don't like them on the production cars. They used to only be put on factory team cars.

Disagree totally. I strongly dislike the badges unless they come standard.

    I.e. F50, CS, 550 Barchetta, etc.

    i HAVE THE ANSWER!

Have the shield put only on the passenger side of the car. This way you have a shield for those who like them, yet it is not on the driver side because...

So the end result is you have a badge on your car either way, but those who dislike shields will not see it as it is on the passenger side.

Next person in line please... #32? Calling #32...

Well, if your paying $153k, you might as well pay $154k. I love them. The question I have is, how much to put them on a pre '98? Do you need a new fender?

...and Sebrings...! Don't forget the Sebrings...! :)

There WAS a time when shields were ONLY on racecars... and they were painted on; they weren't some four figure option, fabricated of nice, shiny cloisonette...

Where does it end or begin. Pure, I stopped worshiping that idle when I lost my virginity 43 years ago. Where I grew up it was about 32 Fords chopped
channeled with blown Olds V8s in them. True they were straight line 8th or
1/4 mile drag queens, but they sounded and looked great to 15 year old boys. Later when you realized you had to turn left and right with some semblance of control weight distribution, shocks, sway bars, torsion bars and
all the variables of steering geometry came into play. This was of course
applied to 'DETROIT PIG IRON'. Why because nobody I knew could afford a 'Foreign' car much less modify it. My first foreign mod was to a 59 Bug Eye Sprite.
I added a Judson supercharger to it. I remember one sunny day in the Palos Verdes area a vintage Porsche had a good run until he waved and pulled off to a yacht club.
But before I digress to far I bought an 81 308 GTSi that was repainted BLACK
from It's original silver. It's got a metal pedal set, the shifter ball has a RED
shift pattern and I just put sheep skin seat covers to protect seat's ribbing from further wear and YES it has Shields. I like the way they look and at 60
I am at an age that is mature enough to say 'to each his own'. I do not plan to enter competitions. And I certainly would not cry foul if I was denied entry
to such. Oh I almost forgot the valve stem caps have the Ferrari logo to.
I don't expect to end, win the debate but just give my 2 cents.
    Stephen

I bought a pair of nice $10 shields from T.Rutlands. The car (to me) looks lacking without them, and they're magnetic, so I can remove them if I so choose. That's the ideal solution.
