    Mr Who~

I havnt been on this forum for that long that I could say I know anyone, there are just to many people. But, I know ive read a lot of your posts, I know youve read a few of mine. I also dont know your history with Ferrari or Fchat, so let me tell you about mine.

I originally, back in 97, was on the MB list. Then I bought a wasted P car and in trying to make it dissolve, I joined the P car list. A fine lady there convinced me to join the F list. You know, at the time, I had no means to buy anything, much less a F car. But I hung out, posted some stuff, got over myself, got over my shyness, I started letting it all hang out and started listening. I can bet youve done the same.

I bet you out there, making lots of posts, your feeling smart on here, but someone along the way on here has slammed you. Your hurt, your smart, but you sting. If you dont own a Ferrari you may be feeling like a poseuer, or worse. Well, I didnt own a F car until last year. To be honest, Im just about broke man, I can barely afford the parts, but its going together come hell or high water. Its been my dream, and dammit, its gonna come true. And even though I dont know you, I wish you would be around when she sings again.

After about two years, I left F list because I didnt feel as a non owner I had anything to contribute, I had nothing valuable to offer. I went away. Then i lurked for a long time until I just couldnt stand it anymore. I had to say something. So if I dont understand your feelings, just shoot me. A Pantera is, and never will be a Ferrari. A Ferrari is a machine built by a racing car master, not necessarily a car builder. What we own are comparable to a strativarious. Time and history will prove this to be so.

Take a break, take a trip, go for a drive, but please come back. People like you will always be missed, even if what you tell us pisses us off. See you on the flip flop.

Old Guy is still around. Old Guy actually isn't an old FerrariChat.com user, hasn't been on but a year or two. I've met in person and I can't say anything else. He doesn't want anyone to know who he is.

Hey, Dr Who ... it doesn't have to be all or nothing. I've really enjoyed F-chat ... I check it almost daily (often twice). I don't do alot of posting, but I take in alot of info. It keeps me closer to the "hobby" than merely going to FCA, and FDC events ... in fact this is where I met the FDC folks! Keep your finger on it ... no reason to close the door completely.

    Best regards, Bill

At least give us some hints or pointers since he denied being Phil Hill.

    No longer here
I'm flattered that someone is interested in whom I am, but as I've said before, I'm nobody very important. I do have some long-time ties to the world of Ferrari, and have been fortunate to have owned a few particularly neat Ferraris over the years. I was once here under my own name, and someone tried to cause me problems in my Ferrari activities. Not worth the hassle, so I prefer to keep my identity private.

I'm definitely not Phil Hill. He was my boyhood hero (and still is), and one of the highlights of my life was a surprise my wife (and Alma Hill) arranged for me. On the morning of my 60th birthday I got a call from Phil; I knew him fairly well, but it was still a surprise. He told me that he was my 60th birthday present; I was being flown to California to spend a few days with him. As I said, one of the highlights of my life. Phil Hill is a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and is one of the great men of our hobby and sport. I suppose I could say I only wish I were him.

Rob knows who I am, obviously. He wants access to some of my files, and Rob, we'll figure out some way to make all that work. Just not today, OK?

Dale, I do hope you and I will stay in touch, perhaps even in the near future.

    O.G.

I haven't bothered you in at least 6 months about them. ;) Even 6 months later my life has become quite busy so I might not be bothering you again for a LONG time. We'll get to it one of these days. I think you and everyone else involved over the years would be very pleased with what I put together. Thanks - you the MAN!
