Two weeks ago, Alonso was on fire... Before Alonso, Fisichella was on fire. We do not need Ferrari drivers to be on fire to perform. Micahel and Rubens are professionals who have everythig under control!
because he had to collect points while Sato figured out how to drive a car without over heating an engine!
It's gonna be between Kimi and Alonso this year. No one else has a shot, including your precious MS. Kimi also should have been up there in Imola were it not for a broken car.
As I said before, F1 is a team sport. McLaren are not capable of developing a world championship worthy race car along with the Mercedes engine. Kimi needs a car that performs before he can start thinking about the World Championship. Just because a car performs in two races does not mean that they have got it right for the entire year. Maybe it is important that the McLaren car should be "on fire" too! Ferrari 1 - 2 at Nurburgring.
It looks like they are very capable of doing so right now. Mclaren have gotten the job done many times before and beaten Ferrari. So how do you come to that conclusion.
Oh whatever, you don't like him cause he had the gall to pass MS those years ago when he was a rookie....He does need to get on with it, he looks like **** these days.
Montoya is a dangerous driver that is a serious risk to the lives of other racers, officials and fans. He cannot be controlled. Just take a look at the video of him attacking the press camera man. If Montoya were to take a real driving test I do not think he would pass!
Yes, but I have to say there is something amiss with JPM. He definitely needs some anger management classes. And sometimes you see that behavior on the track (Nuerburgring 1st turn after the start comes to mind). You know I would love to see the guy stick it to the Iceman, so I'm no JPM basher, but I have to say the guy sometimes is outta control. And sometimes he is freakin' brilliant overtaking where nobody else even knew it was possible (again Nuerburgring comes to mind sticking MS into the sand).
Who knows what the whole story behind that was. I've had bad days and snapped with little provokation and probably worse. This is not a normal thing though. Getting hit in the head and made to bleed is annoying. If you're already upset because of someting it might set you off .
Didn't MS set the fastest lap in the last few races? Something is not coming together this year, I am not willing to say its the car or the tires. I doubt if Ross and Jean will rest on their laurels. They may not win the Constructor's title again, and prolbably not the dirver's championship, but they will finish very well the last half of the season. Kimi winning is good for Ferrari, that means that Fred won't run away with the points just yet. I am not ready to throw in the 2005 towel.
the cars doesn't seem too good over one laps, maybe the tires are just a little harder than the Michelins have to be to achieve the same wear rate which would make them less effective for a hot lap.
tifosiron and racerx, If you had read you would have noticed as I said that the bridgestones simply can't come up to heat enough for the current qualifying format. It's as simple as that. MS keeps setting fast race laps and the BS's wear well. There's not much more to it. To give you an idea of how heat sensitive F1 tires are you can go back to the Australia GP when Ron Dennis blamed JPM for not losing a podium because he made a mistake passing a Minardi and went off track and lost enough heat in the tires that it took several laps to get back up to maximum heat by which time he had lost valuable seconds.
Probably. lol. Anyway, I think that just cause it doesn't heat up as fast doesn't mean it's necessarily a harder compound. Obviously logic would dictate that it would be the case, but with the technology in these tires not it may not be so. The tires according to fat Matchett by Michelin have a special tire design that gives it the ability to heat up quickly, but at the expensive of lap performance afterward (not just long-term wear, but grip immediately thereafter). Who knows...F1 is finally entertaining for a change. That is really all we know for sure.
But . . if the current trend by one Finnish driver tends to continue and prevail for the remainder of the season it will be no different than when Michael and Ferrari ran away from the pack. Will the chronic complainers start the same crap about Kimi and McLaren? Carol
We have to have one prevailing team/driver else we don't get a winner. As I have said on other threads I am new to F1 but I can't let a Grand Prix weekend go by without sitting and watching it. For someone who generally dislikes sports that has to say something! Oh and I absolutley love Ferrari's and still enjoy F1 when they are not winning. What's it going to be like if they do!!!
I was all happy and gang ho for Michael until he had his 6th title in the bag. I really, really wanted him to eclipse Fangio's record so we no longer have to hear that story (we still do nevertheless). I got jaded and bored last year when he took his 7th title. Just as Pete said, once Alonso/Kimi/any driver starts winning year after year and clinching title after title, I'll be just as bored and jaded. But until then I'll enjoy the races. Maybe we need a two term limit for Champions as well?
Michael will win the 7th World Championship this year! And then next year he will win the 8th World Championship! In 2007 he will pass the mantle of Ferrari to Alonso and Kimi. Kimi will be the number 1 racer and Alsonso will be number 2!
