I should have known it was you. Tom has the best AVATAR's on this forum. One of my personal favorites was the Dog with the Cigar. Perhaps you can make a new one for Imperial over here.
I am a Tifosi as well, I have the ultimate respect for Ferrari and MS, I just think Imperial behaves like a ******* when it comes to other drivers and teams. Everybody should have a right to their opinion, but not come across as virulent child and disresptful of the dead. Look at Anthony C's post and PSK for example how well written and concise they are.
I did not read any of that...........BTW, I'm and will always be a die hard Senna fan. No ONE, NOT even Schuey could touch him. He's one of those rare guys that only comes around once in a millenium in my book. I guarantee you he'd know what the hell is going on with the tires.....he was not only the best driver but an excellent technician and studied the sport at an engineer's level. All should read as much about him as possible. I have an opportunity to by a Senna Ducati right now........I'm itch'n badly......but man.....I don't want to kill myself either ;-) d
As Classico 308 and Racerx know I am a complete Senna fanatic, I used to hate him until he joined McLaren in 1988 as I was rooting for Prost. I met him in Phoenix in 1990 and he was one of the greatest guys I have had the privelege of meeting. He really was an awesome driver and what he told the Renault and later Honda Technicians they could not believe. He was telling the telemetry from the previous laps. I probably have every book and Video ever made of him, I even married a Brazilian woman! Regards, Tony
Imperial= Likes... Ferrari of course, Bridgestone, MS , Ferrari 1-2 at every GP Hates... Montoya, Sato, mickey mouse F1 rules, Minardi, Paul Stoddart ,etc... Just like speedmoore, I take his comments with grain of salt. Undercover agent for Bridgestone marketing? I think you're right.. Tony, You're really a Senna freak. Great to see this.. Wish he was still alive...and Gilles too.
My 2 cents worth. Yesterday I allowed myself to let Imperial get under my skin ... and as a result I appologise to the rest of the forum as my posts degraded somewhat and I may have had something to do with this post being created. What really upsets me with Imperial is that it is impossible to discuss or debate anything. I have had some fantastic discussions and debates with many on this forum (heck even disagreed ... ) and we end up reaching a level of agreement OR one of us actually learnt something and our views (yep even mine) change. What I just described above is how normal, intelligent people interact and advance their knowledge. Unfortunately Imperial's inability to even listen to anybody else means that his posts are worthless to this forum ... and I think that is a shame, and a bigger shame for Imperial. I respect his naive love of all things Ferrari, but we all have bleed Ferrari red for many years but that does not mean we do not listen and comprehend other peoples opinions. In closing, I do not want Imperial banned ... I have returned to adulthood and will simply choose what threads to reply to and who to discuss things with ... or maybe put FerrariChat on my ignore list and return to only discussing F1 with my father, as close to all threads in this racing section end up being polluted by childish arguing at the moment, and I'm sure that really pleases Rob ... not . So come on Imperial we imbrace your enthusiasm but please allow others to discuss their views too ... Respectively Pete

Has the Tifosi Troll been silenced? He is the reason why i steet clear mostly of the F1 forum....err.. I mean "Racing" forum....
Thanks Tom for that. Pete I was pissed myself this morning and thank you for being a gentleman and someone very knowledgeble about F1. I don't think Imperial should be banned either, although I started this thread. I just got tired of the lame remarks. I remember wanting Ferrari to win no matter what when they weren't and I was at Indy in 2000 cheering MS on, however, I also cheered for Alesi, Prost, and Berger during the late 80's and early 90's but I had an opened mind towards the other drivers as well. Best Regards, Tony
As much as I disagree with Imperial, there is no proper justification to ban him. He merely expresses his opinion and this is a public forum. The problem with this board is that certain members cast negative personal remarks for those who express different opinions. Those are the members who should be ban.
Depends on what your definition of "opinion" is. If it is merely to incite, it is "trolling." The mighty Tonyh knows how to deal with trolls in the UK.
This is a "real" untouched photo..........from Monaco Sorry Imperial, I just could not resist ;-) I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this photo of your favorite man in F1. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw it. d
Looks like I'm late to this party. Ban him ? Naah... Just put him on ignore like I have (he assures me it's mutual), and everything will once again be right with the world.
I am also late to this thread. I must say I wasn't surprised to see that someone had started it. My take on Imperial is that his blind faith in MS is cute and endearing, if sometimes a little frustrating. The thing I can't stand is his disrespect and distasteful comments about drivers he dislikes. I find it frustrating that in a debate he will suddenly throw in a comment that makes so little sense that it completely invalidates any other points he was trying to make. I do not think he should be banned though. Andreas (Tifosi12) is doing a great job of moderating by guiding threads into less contentious areas rather than closing threads and banning users. Andreas, you are right about Grandpa (Adriano). Somebody should write a book about his experiences. I am no longer in contact with the Irvine's so the only way of finding him would be to turn up at a European race. I am not sure when I'll next be going to a GP as my divorce has left me broke. Here's a couple of pics from Imola 2003. The first is of you with Adriano, the second is me with my girls and Eddie Irvine Snr. Great Days!!!... I have no care for his own attitudes or opinions. What I do not care for are his comments on Senna. Do not be saying those things about Senna. There's a reason why 11 years down the track, every major F1 magazine still votes Senna as the #1 driver of the modern generation. Grown men cried in the days after Imola '94. I am not too proud to say I was one of them. Michael or any other driver could die tomorrow and I wouldn't even have a moments silence. To make those sorts of comments and not be aware of their effect on other people shows a strange sort of ignorance/arrogance. Even so, banning people is going too far. Maybe a warning from a moderator? T.
As a rule sports have never really interested me much. I have liked WRC for sometime but even that of late I do not watch. I bought a Ferrari last year and friends said I would be watching F1 soon. I did not believe it but they were right. I obviously know of Senna because of his demise and how much F1 (and Brazilians) missed the man, he was not just a fantastic racing driver, he loved his people and did an awful lot for them. I can understand why people get annoyed when "cutting remarks" are made, but that is the problem when we are not debating face to face. Blame the faceless interweb for that . I would love Jenson Button to win because he is a Brit (and my daily drive is a Honda) or David Coulthard cos he is a Brit. But I see where Imperial is coming from. For the UK/European people here we had the European cup (Soccer). I live about 45 mins from Liverpool, but Cheered equally for AC Milan. At the moment the sun shines from the posteria of Italians and has done since I bought a Ferrari. I think with Imperial he is a Ferrari fan first and MS second. PS It is my wife incidently that had the soccer on not me (I dislike sports remember).
This site needs more blind loyalists. This season hasn't been going brilliantly for us: that much is true. But coming here and seeing whiny threads, harangues from people who think this season is a lost cause, who talk as though Ferrari is irrevocably spiralling into another dark age, who so quickly have turned their backs to our passion as if it were a useless pair of old socks, is more disheartening than a young nut's blind optimism. I understand that many people come here for the debate, for the thrill of picking flaws, and that is an important part of life--the art of scrutiny. But, by the same token, many seem to be forgetting that we're also talking about sport here; there's nothing wrong with accepting the fanatics either, those whose stark passion makes them blind to the flaws. I admit that there are some people whose posts I prefer to skip over, but they too have a right to express their dour views. Imperial's posts, at least, remind us that not all is lost; they reinforce my own faith. And yes, sometimes a grain of salt is required. But many poster's attitudes make me feel ashamed of being a staunch tifoso sometimes--this place shouldn't keep a loyalist from voicing his or her optimism. Good old fashioned tifosi-ism is lacking here my opinion. To snuff out Imperial's voice would leave an abundance of picker-aparters. So... FERRARI 1-2 @ NURBURGRING!! Oh, and I will add another thing. Tifosi12, you are an excellent moderator and precisely what the Racing section of this site needs. Thank you for your patience, dedication and intelligent commets.
BRAVO !! Standing ovation is in order to you Phil as well as Malc. (standing and clapping now) Carol PS - isn't it about time to let this thread go to cyberville and start thinking about tomorrow - Ferrari 1-2 - oop's it's rubbing off on me
