Yawn. LOL Yeah, owning and driving a Murcielago is just like an Audi sedan an it clearly looks much more Audi than Diablo... Duh. Though Audi bought the company before the 6.0... so that was really just an Audi as well.

    Additionally,

An Enzo is but a beefy Fiat.

The Saleen S7 is nothin but a cleverly disguised & overpriced Mustang.

A Bentley... a mere VW Bug.

Any Jaguar and a Ford Focus??? Same car really...

The Dodge Viper is obviously German.

New Z06 Corvette??? Well, still a Chevy but it must be terrible because its American.

    blah blah blah blah

The F430 Coupe just doesn't do it for me... whereas the F430 Spider looks AMAZING to me! Little to argue about when it comes to this cars´performance though and the technologies within are incredible.

Something about recent F cars... 550, 360, F430... only cars where I don't care for the coupe version but really like each topless.

The Murcielago - Both an amazing coupe and REALLY amazing topless!! Though it has what must be considered the most pathetic excuse for a top ever. My Gen1 Viper laughs at the Murci roadsters´ top.

    Cherm,

    I know what you mean.

Another example - the new 575 PanAmerica or whatever it's called looks much better, to my eyes, than the coupe upon which it's based.

Maybe Ferrari should stick to making dropheads :)

Absolutley! We've had a few troublemakers over here on the "dark side" recently - assumed (possibly wrongly) that you were another one!

You'll find that many of the Lambo owners on this side of the board have had several Ferrraris and so many of us are fairly well able to comment upon the relative merits/de-merits of each marque. Unfortunatley many of the red-clothed brethren seem to have a somewhat blinkered view of the automotive world.

LOL yea every marque has its pro and cons.....its just amazing how people who are so much into cars will argue and argue with each other to find the absolute fact that there marque is god and all others are mortals.

I don't think this is a foolish question at all, Lamborghini's are definitely not the same car, the Audi influence is very noticable and it's a BAD thing! Just because they bailed Lamborghini out financially has nothing to do with preserving the mark. Hell call it what it is, an Audighini, may be a good car but, not a Lambo for sure.

The same can be said of all the unique small marks bought up by the larger compaines, none of them are better off for it except they'er still here, big deal now their being comoditized..... better off dead.

At least Ferrari is ALL Italian, that's about all that can be hoped for in a globalized world. But Fiat is a financial mess, so I guess they need to be bought up too.

It just seems that financial markets drive car design now more than ever rather than passion for the Mark.

That must be you Ray. Many different companies have owned Lambo since the old man sold it, and most if not all were not Italian. Thats over 30 years ago. What do you have against the VW group, as opposed to Chrysler, or the Singapore guys? At least they have deep pockets.

They are ruining every brand they own, except Audi and Volks. Bentley are just re-bodied Phaetons (great british spirit!), everybody is ROFLMFAO about the Bugatti Veyron, and others dislike the lack of testosterone in the latest Lamborghinis ... Volks should stick to Golfs.
Yes, the cars will sell like hotcakes, but their soul has been sold already.
BTW, nice to see you back around :).

Carmakers sold their soul years ago. Ferrari has as well. They may be indepedent, but they are trying to extend the brand as far as they, as well as production volumes are reaching questionable volumes.

As for Bentley re-"bodided" Phaetons, please. Audi has taken these two brands and injected financial money, but allow them to produce sexy, exotic cars. Audi is doing a terrific job with these companies. I couldn't imagine MB having the control of these brands, their marketing and branding efforts have been alittle weird with car companies. I personally love the Murci. Looks like a Lambo to me. If any car companies have sold their sold, its BMW and MB. Going down market below the $30k market, BMW's awful styling and "cheap price tags", ect.

Car compaines that are trying to appeal to every market instead of specializing in certain models tend to dilute those markets which adds to confusion amonst consumers. I'd guess it's fear of surviving, but they make some foolish moves, and DON"T fool most people. Rebranding, just isn't cutting it.
