OK, can't quite make my mind up..

    2000 X 360, manual, grigio titanio/nero 77.5k

Car perfect, main dealer so warranty for 1 year

Having trouble with the idea of letting my year old GT3 RS go for 72k in order
to get into the F car.

Gulp - that's a 13k hit on the RS and I'm guessing an instant 10k on the 360 as soon as the keys are pressed into my sweaty palms...

Want to make a decision by 9am tomorrow, need some convincing ....

How many miles on the 360 ? Isnt that a tad high for a 2000 car. Im thinking of selling my 360 and getting a CS , was thinking of selling mine for a similar price, mines Red/Crema , F1 2001, 15K miles.

assuming you can knock down the price on the 360/up the price on the GT3RS, then it would be a no brainer in my view. The GT3RS doesn't suit that sort of use, as much as I love them :D

It's got 11000 miles, and the price is negotiated as much as poss, no more movement.

    It's manual , as I don't want F1..

    Beaver\Stuffedbeaver,

What's with the two ID's? Please choose the one you want, and I'll remove the other.

    BTW, 360 get's my vote. ;)

I know you dont want F1. I was saying that my car is going to be similar price and it has F1 (more expensive) a year newer but has more mileage.

I think it's expensive and i also think you can get more for you Porsche , but hey, what do i know.

Mmm. I think you are probably right !

But Le Mans is looming and I want to get it sorted by then.

As for the 2 ID's it seems I can't use "beaver" at work PC, FChat won't let me in. ?

Im guessing thats the Graypaul car ? Yeah i suppose if your going down main dealer route, warranty and you want it for Le Mans, thats what your gonna have to pay. I still think they are screwing you a bit on the Porsche.

Saw a 2000 Red Modena with 12k Miles, all extras and full FFSH for £72,950 private sale in the Times.

Quite a few of us on here heading to Le Mans, see separate Le Mans thread.

Hi and welcome to Fchat . I agree with Stimmers the car you're looking at sounds quite toppy price wise. Verdi just sold a v similar TDF blue 360 for low £70's. I know you want the car for Le Mans but it pays to buy wisely ;) 360 prices are only going one way ....*ducks for cover*

Just can't move the RS. Tried it in Sunday Times at 74995, no calls. Also on Pistonheads and has been on SOR at Castle TVR (friend runs it).

The Graypaul car has 2 owners and is pretty much immaculate, I think they are dipping heavily into the 360 money to give me the RS price. 8 RS's for sale in the OPC network, cheapest is 78k with 5000 miles less than mine !

    Arghhh!

Beaver, get the car down to an independant Porsche specialist like Paragon or Camtune on SOR they should shift it for you relatively qucikly as people travel the length and breadth of the county to buy off them. Failing that as them what they would give you for it - should be circa £5K less than forecourt price.

The 360 does seem pricey to me and you will hit come resale as its not red, but you may be better off on the deal if you can shift it through one of the independants

If you can't shift the GT3 RS, then I suppose its a decent deal. However as others have said already, you are paying high for a grey 360 - and its definately the least popular colour and will lose money fast with miles.

For your budgeting, you can see how much you will lose with a few more miles on the clock just by looking at autotrader, leggy grey 360s come in between 65-70K

Joe Macari has a similar 2000 one, 29,000 miles, up for 67K... you could prob get him down a bit. I guess he would have bought it off a punter for near 60K

Good luck and just go for it if you cant wait :)

I was doing exactly this same thing until 5 years ago. Then I decided to only buy cars 6 years old, as they have lost all their money. And in that time I have racked up 60,000 miles using a 993, 348, 355gts, 355spider and now my current 355GTB. And guess what it has cost me? NOTHING! sold the 993 after a year for just 500 loss, sold 348 for 1500 profit, sold 355 for 1000 loss and made 2000 on spider. and had 60k miles thrown in for good measure.

I am not including maintanence as you will need tyres on whatever you drive. The very reason I am not in a 360 now is that I think they will lose another 15k in the next year or so. OUCH! Ok for the ones that are willing to lose that money, but not for me.

Did enough of that some years ago. and yes, the best chap to deal with is Karl Verdi. A real star!

Thanks guys, I think I'll pass on it, hold on to the RS a little longer and see what's around 360 wise.

What's the average running costs per year ? I know 18k and cambelts is circa 2k but that excludes fixing wear and tear stuff , RS in comparison needs nothing for 2 years...

If you're interested in a private purchase, I have similar car (2001), reg MIOODNA, also from Graypaul, 11,600 miles, F1, FFSH and under factory warranty until August of this year. I'm asking 76K and it is pristine, mechanically perfect with new disks, pads, tyres, etc etc
    All the best

Yes, got fed up talking to time wasters... Asked Karl to sell it for me after Graypaul offered 68,000 for it but sells it for 78,000 when in fact there isn't one penny to spend on the car which is in concours condition. Had a new clutch fitted about 300 miles ago, also new disks, pads, tyres, ... It's perfect from everywhere, really :)
