Yeah, it was purchased by an attorney who initially wanted to purchase a 360 spider but picked this up for $225K instead.

Red F430 on the beltway (495N) in DC on Thu 5/26. Traffic was nuts. This was my "first" 430.

A couple of days prior I saw a red 360 Spider in Central PA about 1/2 mi from my house. Anyone know who?

Hmmmm......have you driven one in order to make that statement? Unless you have, or until you do, you might want to equivocate just a bit, huh.

I have not and I will not take back that statement. The car is NOT worth 225k. Even 150k sticker is pushing it. Those that pay more wanna be the first on the block to have one. Once the novelty wears off...back down to sticker they go. It's like a 360 spider...one can be had for less than 200k now...now that the f430 is out. Ford will produce something bigger and badder that outdoes the GT.

    Oh, I dunno.

When Les fired his up the other day, it made all the little hairs on my neck stand up.

It looked great, sounded great, I'm guessing it drives great, and is a pretty good bang for the buck.

Eventually, they'll run back down towards list, but not right away I wouldn't think.

Mark, you're missing my point. I'm not arguing whether the car is worth more or less than sticker, or that sticker is fair, but rather that you cannot make the statement that "the car isn't that great" about any vehicle until you've driven one and decide for yourself. If you have driven any car, be it a Ford Focus to an Enzo, and then decide for yourself that "it isn't that great" then fine. Until you do, you can only suppose that it is, or isn't that great. I'm not suggesting that you're not entitled to your opinion, only that one cannot be so unequivocal without firsthand experience. I didn't THINK the GT was "that great" until I drove one and concluded that, for me, it was worth getting, even at a premium. I didn't buy it as an investment, I bought it to enjoy the drive. No flame intended.

I could not agree more, lets face it if you are going to spend over 100k for any car (and its not an ivestment), it better bring you enjoyment, because if it does not your buying them for the wrong reason. I had a very similar discussion with the members of the M3 board in regards to their opinion about Ferrari's. I have driven and owned alot of cars and I have my opinions, but ask me about an SL55, or the DB9, or the GT for that matter, I can tell whether I like the way they look but thats about it.

hmmm...good points by both. You are correct i can't say if the car is great or not because I haven't driven it. I'm only going by magazines mixed with my opinion. The GT may be a bang for the buck for the original price but for me to say it's not worth X amount of money isn't correct since i neither have the money or experience of driving one. So...can I drive it? hahaha...j/k
