2000 360 Red/tan coupe with 5600 miles, tubi, serviced but not majr svc/belt chg of yet. in pristine condition,6 speed-they won't budge from 134 K and insist majr svc not due until 7 yrs.... i'm looking to trade in my 1994 red/tan 348 spyder-mint with 19 K miles. i don't want to lose this deal but don't think car is worth more than 128-130K.

Here's the way I see it. You are approx $4k apart for a car you really want. I don't see the problem frankly. Life is too short to have regrets over 3% of the value. If you were wavering, or the delta was $20K I'd understand the hesitation, but most of these pricing standoffs are about pride and winning.

Get the car if you don't want to lose it. The $4k will fade into distant memory within the first 15 minutes blasting down the road in your new 360!

A fellow F-Chatter bought my 01 360 Modena 7.4K miles rainfree, tubi 6 speed and PERFECT condition from Nelson Lamborghini. He might PM you on the price. From my trade difference your car seems a little high but IMO worth it in extra value,ie. tubi, condition, etc. If I were you, and you liked it, I'd be a buyer.

Alex is right. The spread is minor in relation to the total cost. The low mileage and the Tubi add value as does the "classic" color combination. If you like the car a few thousand dollars is not much to squabble over. Buy it and enjoy it! :)

I don't know what major service is but for 2000 360s cam belts, cam variators and tensioners must be replaced. The car must have had at least one oil and brake fluid change per year. It think for the 2000 MY also require to have had at least one coolant flush and tranny/differential fluid change.

If they say 7 years before the major is due they have not read the service manual and probably missed some of the required services.

that car needs a major service. car is 5 years old now.

If they did the variators, did they do the belts, usually do. If so, a good buy.

    drbill,
Anytime you do a trade, I'm sure you know will be paying top dollar. Dealers know that and will use that. If you are a cash buyer, you will usually get a better price. If you are a cash buyer, there are better deals out there, if you want to trade then maybe OK.

It sounds like a very nice car but you must have the variators and belt service done to feel comfortable in my humble opinion Budman

I would be interested in the price your buyer paid for your car. I'm looking now at a 360 with very similar specs--2001, 8,000 miles, excellent condition, with an asking price around $127,000, and trying to decide whether to trade in my 91 348 tb, which I love.
