OK, you can only afford one of these, whcih would you buy and why? A F40 in excellent condition. Or A new F430 spyder.
the 430 spider will be a more useable , everyday car, and might be even a tad faster than the f40, but i would take the f40, which will always be a limited edition supercar, with historic significance..it will also hold its value , which currently is over 300k ....the 430 spider list in the low 200s, and will eventually decrease in value due to large production numbers....
F430 is more useable day-to-day, if that is a consideration. F40 is theoretically also 50% more expensive.
I predict the F430 will sell in excess of 20,000 units worldwide before its successor comes out some time past 2010. End of discussion. T.
I will also take the F40. If for no other reason that in a few years when the replacement for the F430 comes out, I wont feel like Ive got the old car. With an F40, Id feel, no matter what comes out, that Ive got the coolest and the best car. No matter what.
F40 is a ton more fun than the new SL430, but the SL is a much more comfy and practical daily driver.
F 40 Last true ferrari in my book (none of this over the top technology) real driver experience with REAL gear box and exteme everything Limited in production and a good copy will only hold value 430 will be bunches on the road f 40 you have a chance with a good wrench I mean a really good wrench to do work on this car without a couple of million dollars of software More tactile and tractable F40 all the way
F40 here...the question should be though...'if it was given to you and then taken away in a year'...that would throw the depreciation argument out.
F-430 is the "flavor of the month" type of car for anyone who can affort one, F-40 is a legend in the automotive history not for mere mortals. It is true that F-430 performs at least equal if not better than the F-40, but F-40 is the first official Ferrari in the Super-Exotic class.
F40. Enzo's last creation. Legendary. The F430 will be old news just like the 360 when it's time is up.
