My wife and I put our house up for sale on Sat. We had an open house, which we will never do again, and had a few dozen people traps through the house. Almost everyone made a comment about the Ferrari in the garage. One comment was disturbing. He made referrences to stealing it because he knew where one was now and how strange it was to see a Ferrari in my community. Even thought there are at least 30 exotic's in a 5 mile raduis of me. He was telling his friend to drop the offer by 20k based on the fact that there was a Ferrari in the garage. I was going to leave the car at Darth's house or at my agents house but it sold yesterday and we pulled it off the market.

Congratulations on the new house, it's beautiful. The last time we sold our house the brokers brought through the caravan. Any and all pain medication we had was stolen from our medicine cabinet. Got to hide the Ferrari and the pills.

The people buying are jealous. I just put in the rich and good looking for an ego boost. I'll try to refrain.

We have come to understand that open houses only serve the selling agent. It's self promotion at our expense.

When we sold our last house I told the agent no open houses and no lock box. There's nothing worse than nosy realtors and unqualified buyers poking around your house.

ain't that the truth. We requested that agents call first before showing at least one hour before. Many agents called while standing outside. There are some good agents out there but the market has created a lot of shill agents.

    Congrats on the new house.....

I was wondering what to do with the Fcar if we listed our house. I though it would be a good idea to keep it around because : 1. It might stop the low-ballers 2. Most Fcar owners are miticulous about their cars and most would think they are the same way about their homes.

    No?

Then what do I do w/ all the Fcar stuff in the garage?

I think it incourages low ball bids. Afterall, If I can afford a Ferrari, I can pay their closing costs.

Once the open house was over. I covered the car and took all the Ferrari stuff down.

New house look great. What fun it is to move. After a year in our new house I'm still getting settled in. You will love the 3-car garage and now will wish for a 4-stall. I went from a 25x20 2 stall to a 30x36 3 stall and still don't have enough room (my wife has a different opinion)

I am planning on having a house warming party once we get in. Sometime towards the end of July or in August.

The garage is oversized. It's more like a 1.5 stall and a 2.5 stall. They are really wide berths. I am going to see about getting a lift installed.

I look at it a different way - They may see the house & car as a lifestyle they want to achieve. :)

With this competitive market in Cali, people are silly to low ball an offer - It just means they won't get the house!

The new house looks really nice - Looks like Anaheim Hills or something - A little away from the city with a nice view. :)
