Not what you want to hear, just an opinion: 430 or 360

The F40 has always been top on my list and the F430 will not change that.

The F 40 is the timeless classic and a real Ferrari icon. It will be more valuable as time goes by and is the better "investment".

But as a car, I'd take the 430. I don't race, and I'd like to use the car as a comfy daily driver. The F 40 is a track car that you can drive on the street and I want a street car that maybe I could track.

The F40 for fun at the track. It's just too cool. F430 seems pretty complete though... but I read that it can make anybody look like a star. The challenge of learning to time a perfect lap in an F40 would probably tug at my emotions if I was in the position to buy either car.

You guys must live far from cities - I'd save my $'s until the perfect 288GTO came along. I'm not one to worry about 180 vs 200 mph on a public North American road. The GTO is way sexier than any F40. If that means putting up with a lowly 348 until that 288 found my driveway, I'd do it in a second.

    Oh wait, I am waiting....

    This is a good topic.

If I could have only ONE, it would be the 430. I think the experience would be more exciting with the 430 vs the 40.

But, for the money, the F40 is truly a great car. There is not a lot of downside buying one. I am not sure it will appreciate in price, but I wouldnt be surprised if it held relatively steady for many years. I think if you had a Ferrari already, you could easily justify a F40 because of the minimal downside risk.

If you could have ONE Ferrari, a F40 or F430 for ONE YEAR and then they take it away from you, so you lose nothing except maintenance & gas, would you still pick the F40?

F40 in a New York minute - I'd have Rick's in particular as I've heard whispers about the upgrades...spiritual links to my 348 but without the droptop and of course more boost....

Rick, hope it is coming along...can't wait to see the beastie again (yes, folks, he does have one as I saw it once, albiet a long time ago) and will for sure be in the bidding for a ride!!

    Cheers
    Kevin

    You're kidding, of course.
If not, here are some other comparisons you might go for:
    911 Turbo or Audi TT
    Ford GT or Ford Focus
    Corvette or Cavalier
    Bentley Arnage or Opel Astra
    Mercedes SLR or C230

and I'm sure there are many others you can think of

No contest F40 all the way. For me the 288GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo are the ulimate in Ferrari ownership.
