...............a guy that was always willing to inform others through his experiences. Always cordial and professional. A loss not only to this forum, but I'm sure, also to all various communities he belonged to. No offense to non christians, but it sometimes seem like God takes the best of us early. A heartfelt prayer goes out to his loved ones.
Wow...so sad. My condolences to Ben's family, friends and to all those involved. Be careful everyone.
Did not know Ben but may he and his passenger RIP. My condolences to his family and the family of his passenger. Truly a sad day!
Seriously sorry to hear this, and may he be remembered for all the great things he has done that has touched each and every one of us. RIP.
Just like some of us here....i have not met him since he lives in Cali...but i have seen many of his post and he taught me a lot from reading them...i might have just joined recently, but i can tell he was a big part of the Ferrari-Chat Family...my prayers and condolences are to Ben, his family, friends, anyone that was associated with him...may God be with him..
The passenger was another amazing guy and friend, Cory Rudl. I was with them both. Cory's Murceilago Roadster overheated early in the session. He was interested in buying a GT and Ben graciously offered Cory a seat to show him what the car could do. The entrance to the track was at the absolute worst place in the straight and an F-car was waived on in error as they came down the straight. It was just unthinkable something like this could happen. The driver waived on is by all accounts an excellent driver and was only doing what was instructed. I doubt he ever saw the car in such a blind spot coming on. May they both rest in peace and my heartfelt prayers for their families. Cory leaves behind a wonderful wife of just 30 days.......tragic isn't the word.
The oval was not used during this event. Only the infield was used. The acident happened after the bridge in the infield. When the oval is not used, the entry to the track is in the area after the bridge.
Oh geez...this is absolutely unbelievable!!! May God bless Ben and Cory, and give strength to each of their families. Very, very sad news!!
Still quite shocked, Ben was a wonderful person and his family will be in my prayers. Ben and his passenger, RIP.
Oh no... This is shocking! I never met Ben in person, but read many of his post and felt like family here on Fchats and other boards. Condolences to his family. My prayers goes to both of them, God bless them both...
When only the infield is used, the entry to the track from the pits is in the straight in the infield where the "cross over bridge" is. The entrance is past the bridge.
Terrible heartbreaking news for the families of Ben & Cory and also the other 'innocent victim' who survived. As a UK Fchatter I never had the pleasure of chatting with Ben, but as a regular user of the boards and also a track day enthusiast, things like this have away of touching us all. RIP Ben & Cory
My condolences to his family... rip Ben's last post at FChat.com http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59132
Very sad news. Godspeed. May we all learn something from this. No matter how skilled a driver is there can always be an accident. Jeffrey I Love You.
I`m shocked. My deepset condolences to his family and friends. What a tragic accident. R.I.P. Wolfgang
