Looks more like something the Mafia would use to carry out drive by shootings.

Although it does look like Stephen King's The Car.

I remember that movie "The Car" it would be funny to see that again. It was pretty scary when your 8 years old. IIRC the car was built out of a lincoln.
Stephen Kings car Christine was a 58 Fury had a similiar grill to the new 300.

Simply an example of the gratuitous pandering Detroit is doing to the aggressive and defensive subconscious feelings in helpless people triggered by the increased sense of external threats such as terrorism.

The 300C and the 300C SRT/8 are very nice rides.

I drove one and I was impressed.

Not the popular opinion of this thread but thought you'd appreciate an honest opinion even if it didn't agree with your own.

33 to 43 grand? Thats a nice car...for the money

I we’re going to cast grandiose allusions on the car, I'd add that it represents American car companies rediscovering their roots- big unapologetic v8 sedans with attitude and style. It's about time....

The other day I saw a 300 rolling down the street with a (hopefully fake) Bentley grille hacked onto the front. If the designers were pissed about dealer installed Landau roofs...

Drove one at length. All in all ok, but terrible accelerator pedal feel. Powerful and heavy, and quite cramped inside for its size. Also, interior was typically tacky--plastic switchgear and ill-fitting panels.

I didn't get to drive it, but Rick, the head of the Driver's Edge drove it with his student. Yes, that's right, someone brought out a 300c to Texas World Speedway this past weekend. It wasn't the 425 horse version, but it did very well. It was quite impressive once the ESP was turned off. With the ESP turned off, it would accellerate when the car wasn't pointed straight. Otherwise, with the ESP, the car had to be going in a direction for the gas to come on. Apparently, it handles very well and you just point it and it goes in the direction you want it to.

Agree..It's not exactly innovative design, more of a imposter. Mazda falls in this line with some of the Porsche-like cars.

Yeah, I hate this car too...Interior is awful...a "sea" of plastic and tacky at that....carpet is thin and cheap feeling....

My aunt brought one of these and they think it's just something else...I think its a luxury car poser...

Get a Mercedes CLS500...it's classy styling with a new twist from Mercedes and the interior is out of this world!.....looks like it was designed by a fashion designer...WOW!

Look at it: You'll forget about that crappy Chrysler 300 in no time.....

As much as I like Mercedes (I own one), and the CLS, I don't think you realize just how much plastic is in that car. There's less plastic in my 1970 Dodge that in my Merc.

They are in two completely different price ranges--different target markets. The exterior styling of the Mercedes is a lot more appealing, because instead of staid squares they have nice sleek arcs and angles. However, the Mercedes is not without fault--from some angles it looks like a Honda. And interior room is cramped. Interior design is also uninspiring.

The 300C looks a lot like the Bentley 4-dr sedan that's about to come out. Too bad for Bentley, but not good for the 300C either--it's a square blob, whether badged B or C.

Disregarding any resemblance to more expensive makes, appeal to subconscious needs for image projection or security, or the amount of plastic inside, I think the 300 is a great looking car.
