So, 11 months ago I purchased the following car from Maranello in Egham... 360 F1 4,600 Miles Nov 2001 Grigio Titanio Black Leather and Silver Stitching Leather Headling Silver Callipers Challenge Grills Front and Rear CD Changer Extended Warranty 'til November 2006 £93,000 approx all in With an 'official' Ford GT on the way, I contacted Maranello to ask them if they want to buy my car. I have put only just over 1,000 miles on the clock - it's now on 5,800 - still very low. So how much did they offer? - your guesses please gentlemen. How much do you think 11 months and 1,000 miles impacts on it's value??? (A picture of a car dealer grabbing me by the short and curlies for the closest guess!)
Sale price looks like it would still be low 90's so their opening bid was 70 maybe 75 What colour & eta do you have on the GT ?
GT is White with blue stripe plus only UK extra (other then stripe) are the magnesium alloys. Been promised it was coming since February but ETA is August.
Problem is that everyone is offloading their 360s for the 430s. I sold mine having had it for 9 months since new and lost 15K. And that was back in Nov '04. I did put 7K miles on it though, what a great Summer that was So if your taking a 15K hit or less, sadly count yourself lucky
My guess is £70k. BTW, I heard the reason all Ford GTs are being delayed is that the build quality is rubbish and they are being rebuilt by Aston Martin in Newport Pagnall....
I went to a lecture at Ford last month - the EU homologation was difficult and they only got the car for conversion in November so its not long since signed off - I believe all the euro mods are being done at a facility near the Nurburgring with first cars due this month and then the hundred due to arrive by end September - lots of new lights Mazda headlamp washers a new silencer and Aston exhaust valve system for noise
In a previous life (up to end of last year) I was in the music business and was CEO of a successful and well known youth brand. Ford thought it would be good to spread the allocation over different types of people. I first filled out a form on Ford's web site, couple of interviews later, letters from car dealers (Merc and Porsche) confirming I was an early receiver of the first SL55 and GT3 RS and didn't sell them on and then got confirmation. Very pleased - and have received several offers since from buyers who don't want to go near unofficial US imports.
In a thread on ph,that made me laugh. 'All cars that they do not sell are rubbish that nobody wants. That is until you buy something from them, then take it back later for PX - at this exact point it becomes rubbish and nobody wants it.' My guess is 75k bye the way
My guess £70 grand if your lucky Come on put us out of our misery reveal all . You never know somebody on here might be looking and up the bid . Ray 360M
Trade price for a car with 21k miles is £69,750. So I guess first offer is between £65k and £70k say £68,000. Interestingly the trade price of your car in July 04 with 17k on the clock was £78,150, so depreciation is £8,400 in your time of ownership. Part of the excess differential is £10,000 between trade a retail price. Any excess loss over £18,400 is made up of paying more than retail and being offered a price less than trade price. So if you are beeing offered £68k that last amount would be £6,600. Paid £93,000 Less £10,000 Less £ 8,400 Less £ 6,600 Offer £68,000
