Nearly taking off?! Kalbas tell your friend to be careful lol! Nice to know it's being driven as it should be though. Do you have any footage of the '04 Gumball from the Enzo? I saw a few snippets of footage from your car in the Extreme series

yes, but the sound is terrible, too low, therefore except when you see other cars being passed, the images look dull. My friend has changed apartments, I hope he remembers where he put the tapes from last year, I'll ask him!!

READ , the articles about Enzo , especially the one in which the car is driven by former F1 champion Phill Hill.
Of course , if you can find it.

(Just to make you a bit more angry, it's too much fun)

Come on, those were other time, any golf cart with the right driver would drive rings around a 1958 F1 car....:D

Also you know, my grandpa used to fly these infamous german planes during WWII, but i guess his opinion on a B777 being comparable to a fighter jet wouldn't have been considered so seriously...;)

Anyway, i hope one day you can spend a night with either an Enzo or with its japanese designer.

Let me quote Jean-Jacques His, director of engine department for Ferrari road cars:
"People should not tell fancy stories, road Ferrari and F1 Ferrari have no parts in common, even the Enzo. It would be ridiculous. "

I'm surprised no one has mentioned about the TIRES

how come Bugatti engineers had to develop along some tire manufacturers ; a totally new tire system in irder to reach 400 KPH

get real man , it`s not about taking parts from an F1 engine , it`s about technical know-how taken from F1 , like alloy`s , aerodinamics principles , electronic gadgets and so on and adapting them to the road car.

ENZO is a road car closely related to an F1 car.

Come on, nowadays, with the restrictions in F1, any Toyata Prius is technically more advanced than a F1 car.
Weird alloys for block -> Banned
    Huge aero work -> Banned
    Weird petrol -> banned
Advanced electronic -> Banned (even active suspension is banned....)
Magnetic valve activation -> (I guess) forbidden
Even the engine layout (V), displacement, aspiration etc. is strictly written.
It more a battle of lawyers against rules than a really technical battle.

Today F1 and road cars have nothing in common but a brand (it's the same for DTM etc).
Even BMW said it was pure markeing to make a V10 engine, but admitted there was no link with the F1 engines. The casting system is similar, but then again, it is for any engine that requires very low tolerances.
By the way, the departements have nothing in common, and having worked at DC for a time, i can tell you it does mean something.

F1 is to me completly useless, as there have nothing in common AT ALL with real (even super-)cars.

Don`t take gougoul opinions for real , maybe he worked at MB but he`s an IT specialist.

Of course the V10 was purely marketing , to fool people with the so called BMW F1 tech , because even an IT specialist knows that a V10 it`s not well balanced.

And also, the same way you confuse F1 and Enzo, you confuse IT and Software, but that's logical :D

let`s see where you`re right and where ...not
    weird alloys for block --indeed
for the block , but not for the gearbox
huge aero work -- are you kiddin` me ? F1 cars are fighter jets on wheels turned upside down
    weird petrol --still used
advanced electronics ? ok i guess that for you Traction Control and electronically controlled differentials don`t qualify as advanced electronics

And of course the humour sample with Toyota Prius :))

No, the aero itself is nowadays not fun anymore, no sucker (not a bad word here) engine to get the car on the road etc etc, venturi effect is as limited as possible etc.
Don't compare a fighter Jet with a F1 car, you already wrongly compare Enzo and F1 . F1 cars have a very bad aero (Cx) because of the drag they have to generate, while planes have a good aero anyway.
From what i know, petrol is stock, but again, i don't like F1 so i might be mistaken
TC exists in car since ages, and is really not seen as something spectacular(ASR is more than 20 years old), same for E-diffs (see beemer M5 etc.)
Is launch control still allowed ?
Dynamic damping is forbidden for sure, is there ABS, electronic brakes etc etc ?
Sequential gboxes is as old as gearboxes are (for obvious reasons, as most makes still use Porsche synchromesh),
Turbos, compressors, diesel as well, as are W engines, straight engines etc. are forbidden.

Not sure the prius was a joke....

How are those principles applied on Enzos any different from those applied on 360CSs, for example? Or CGTs? Or Elises? Or Minis?

BTW, your "F1 car for the road that would make ALL other cars in this category look outdated by a few generations" was slower in a slalom test than a lowly Boxster :p

De unde din Romania ziceai ca esti? :)
