I think their aim is to make people see how close the M6 come's at a substanially less price. They can never really be a better car. I have sat in the back seat of both cars and the 612 is much more roomier.

Many thanks for that article, especially since the one bookstore that carried the British car magazines was forced out of the local mall.

This is a rare level of praise from EVO and very well written. I am even more impressed and determined to have a 612 in my stable than ever.

But who can blame BMW for shooting for the stars? ;)

Your color and interior are beautiful. I have been interested in the comments about the 612 not looking good in light colors. Of course, there were plenty of comments about its styling but I thought the car looked good enough at the car shows to order one anyway. The more I see the happier I am. I chose Gregio Ingrid with dark tan interior, daytonas, stitching, modular wheels, park assist, etc. I have pics of a 575 in these colors if I can post them. Congratulations on a beautiful car!

hey i like the wheels; nice choice. as for the earlier seat belt question, i'm not sure about needing to be anchored on the floor, but they dont need to be anchored to the actual car at the top end. my family owns a 2004 chevy tahoe, and the front seat belts are mounted on the shoulders like the 612.

What´s the specific name of that set of wheels that you have on your 612?
....and, could you post some highres pics of it? (1280x+++)
Could be the same pics you posted in your first post to this topic or so, but wallpaper sized pics.
I would be very glad about it!

Sorry to bother you with this, but I´m making a 612 Scaglietti in 3d and would like to get as many specs I could, to make a more accurate model of it for games...

    Thanks mate. :)

I may have found the answer:

These are probably Autoliv type seatbelts. This swedish company thinks the traditional B-pillar anchored seatbelts will not always restrain the body in a rollover situation, because of the big gap between the guy's shoulder and the anchor point.

So the belt should be fixed onto the seat itself near the people's shoulder. For full effect there should be an auxillary airbag further pressing the guy into the seat in the complete Autoliv system.

    Hey, Jas!

I just would like to thank you about the pics. THey helped alot on seeing some "unseen" details of the car, and so I can model them as well...
So, I decided to come and post the last pics of my work on the 3D model of the 612....To show you what have been done on the car so far...

The wheels are oversized there, (I know I like big wheels but I´ve got this done before getting your pics, so I will fix wheels size yet and make the car sit low at the proper height...)
Car has no interior yet, and cavallino badges are missing yet, as well as textures to make teh car look like the real thing....but anyway...this is a Work In Progress... ;) Lots of things to do yet.

I hope the boards allow the out-linked pics here.
Greeting, mate! and one more time, Thank you alot.

    Erwin.

    Surething! :)
I´ll make a composite render with the colors you asked me for, then.
I´m testing out some colors on the 612, I tried to achieve that Grigio Ingrid ....or light Gold ...but I´m still playing with the settings...

    Stay tuned! ;)

I saw that color today on a 360 Spidey at FoO today. Breathtaking. That interior, while stunning, would take years off my life, I'm way too anal.

Your car is a work of art.
