My new garage is almost complete and ready for final inspection. It has been a long time comming, but alas, Cavallo has a worthy stable. My home was built in the 40s by Norwegian stone masons, and I tried to mimic the stone work with cultured stone for the garage. I did all the log siding on the house and garage, put up the steel roof etc. working on getting more glass block windows in the lower part of the house. My 78 euro 308 was struck by hail last june in Colorado. It has been in the shop since Christmas. The body shop did an outstanding job of chemically stripping the car (original lacquer), massaging out the dents and laying sown some pretty amazing paint (base coat/clear coat poly and buffing). They also removed the side marker lights and put in the original euro front marker light. They also surgically cut a vent hole in my front bonnet to place in the radiator ventwork. The new QV wheels completed the package. Just a concrete floor in the garage, nuthin special with that. Enjoy………………..john

Just hang up a Ferrari flag and you will be good to go.

BTW, I love the house...if I ever move to the mountains, I would want a house like yours. The stone and logs look great.

does your garage also serve as a great big dog house?

(I spy a doggie door next to the sidedoor entrance...)

Yes , the opening. well, since i live on the creek, and i built in the flood plain, i needed openings in the garage so it will take on water in the event of a flood (so i dont disturb the existing flood plain). what a pain, but that is the only way i could get a permit for the thing. anyways, glad you all like it, it was all my own design, nice to see it materialize. Mike, nice to meet you at the show, too bad i couldnt get my car there in time, your 328 is superb...
upstairs in the garage will have wood floors, pine walls and a tin plated ceiling.

Yeah man, was awesome to finally meet you too in person :).

Man, I gotta hand it to you--you really know how to stand firm and rebuild it right when nature throws curve balls your way! The house really does look stunning and the garage blends in perfectly.

those boulders, although looking pretty precarious, are pretty well rooted. that terrain has been there since the last ice age and it would take an earthmovement to loosen them up. - unlike fresh roadcuts and carving up hillsides to put up houses that are fairly recent geologically. i have lived there 21 years, and small debris falls down the hill once in a great while due to deer and wildlife. if that hill ever gave way, i hope no one is in the house.
glad you all like it - the whole place has been a labor of love since day one.....and cavallo is right at home riding the twisties in the canyon

Looks great. Man, you're a survivor. I was wondering why the place was so tall and with all the snow it makes sense. Good work!

    John,
I remember you sending in photos near your house when the big fire was over the ridge. The place really looks great. I am not going to show these photos to the wife or she will make me move. -Skip in Michigan
