Does anyone have a website or other resource that shows some of the watches Cartier offered when it was the official Ferrari licensee? I saw one for sale at the Cavallino Classic some years ago that I really liked but didn't have the $$ for. Now I can't seem to find anything at all on them. I've tried Google, but nothing productive. If anyone knows of a place that stocks any of these (used, obviously) I'd like to know about it.
I have one which I love- "ferrari Formula" watch made by Cartier for Ferrari in 1987. Dealer is Fred Repass 404-261-5645 fax 404-261-0464 3215 Gables Dr NE Atlanta, Ga 30319-4184 He is the country's expert in F watches. Marty
Fred Repass is no longer available, and has none of his inventory left. He is totally retired due to health issues. I have some information on all the models which were made, but I have not seen one of the chronographs, either quartz or automatic, for sale for some time. (I gave mine to my son.) I do know of a couple of the "lesser" ones available. Please contact me privately if you wish to pursue this.
I've seen various Cartier Ferrari watches at one time or another at the "Formule 1" boutique in Monaco, just around the corner from Monaco Motors, the local Ferrari dealer. They might be able to help, but be forewarned that their prices are high.
This is really a question that belongs into the Collectables forum, where we had discussed this before, just do a search. Aside from that there is a leaflet with all the various Cartier Ferrari watches. They made quite a few different style combinations. I found mine several years ago on ebay for not too much (around $ 500). Good luck on the hunt!
Good luck locating him as Fred Repass passed away last year. I have a Cartier Ferrari watch I bought from Fred 10 years ago.It has been a good watch...no problems whatsoever. Carrol Shelby also bought one from Fred at Pebble Beach years ago.
As of two weeks ago Fred is still alive, although not well. He is no longer living in the Atlanta area. D. Seibert
Also, if you are an FCA member take a look at the classified section of the monthly bulletin. Fred was a regualr advertiser there for his watches. I do not have a copy with me so I cannot check right now.
OK, let's try this again. Fred Repass is alive, but not well, and is no longer involved with Ferraris in any way. He is living in a nursing home. A friend of mine spoke to him two weeks ago. All his material -- literature, etc -- was sold off some time ago -- probably two years or so. He is not advertising watches, selling watches, etc., and never will again. He is not in a position to answer any questions about watches. Sorry. D. Seibert
Charles these watches turn up regularly on Ebay - even the Chronographs, although some people are asking silly money. I have a very good condition chronograph, grey face, steel and gold strap, with box and original stamped guarantee - £650 - PM me if interested - Nathan
Is it a Ferrari Formula like mine? See it here, halfway down the page http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34761&page=9&pp=20
I know a place where you can buy new ones...I'm not talking of used watches but brand new from old stock and selling at 50% of original price. I'm not kidding and these are not fake, they are sold by a well know ferrari importer and I'm just wearing one 512 BB models while typing ! They still have some models available. They do sell by correspondance. Check your PM mailbox. Cheers Phil
First time I've ever seen this design. No affiliation. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5016110244
I purchased my Ferrari Formula watch brand new from NewPort Imports, the CA Ferrari dealer in 1987. I recently had it serviced and the watchman told me it was a high grade Japanese movement. If the Cartier is sold by Ferrari Formula then I must wonder if it is genuine?
Hey Eric, How're you? Thanks for posting this. I looked for it about 2 wks ago, but couldn't find any. I never seen this watch by Cartier. There's no Cartier logo on the dial. If it is Cartier, it should come w/ certification notebook for authentification. I don't know what collabo watch (Cartier & Ferrari) looks like, and how many models were available. Does anyone know?
Are you glad to be back? Don't you miss anything from there?? Do kiss & tell. Is this mean the ebay listed item is a fake?? Could someone post a link or pic of Cartier-Ferrari watch?
