We were there, rather disappointing considering the stakes. Sad day for F-1 but a great showing for the red cars (albeit the limited competition). Porsche races were good and Andretti Jr/Jr looked fantastic the day before...

Great shots Crawford !! Nice shot of Tommy and Mike. The shot where they are in front of you and Tommy is shooting out of the roof looks like he pretenting to be riding a roller coaster ;)

These were some of the other sights I saw during the weekend; interestingly decorated people, beefed up security after the problems started, the flyover, etc. The photo of the CL500 is Bernie (sitting in back, not visible) fleeing the scene after pandemonium began to brake loose; the BMW 760 is Frank Williams who is visible in the front passenger's seat. Bernie's car was pelted with Foster's cans after people identified him and people yelled at the cars a lot.

Something else I enjoyed about the weekend was the number of exotics I saw "in the wild". Here are some photos I snapped of other rare and exotic cars as I wandered around town. These include Ford GT, Chevy Z06 (C6!), CL65, Chris' F40, Bentley GT, 360, NSX, and the chameleon "hypercolor" 550 (or 575?).

Had a great time in indy.
My first time....very likely also the last since it is highly unlikely that they will ever return.

After our GrandAm Cup race in Tornonto on Sat at 7pm we packed up and drove through the night to Indianapolis (14h) and were graciously invited by an Indycar Team Owner to stay at his suite. I was not out on the balcony for longer than 2 minutes when I heard Cris Parr calling me. He was two suites over and we were stunned to run into each other. I mean what are the ods. :)

The race was great. I mean for the fact that it was history in the making. Having seen F1 in Monaco 4 times I can say that this was certainly "strange". It was also very rewarding to see Minardi in the points. Well needed constructor points. Good going guys.

Unfortunately we had to leave again this morning. So no Ferrari gathering for me. :(

Hope you all are having a blast.

I just want to know how it took you 14 hours to get here from toronto... Also did anyone go and see the cars at turn 3/back straight away onthe 500 track during the race? There were a lot of nice cars back there as well. Saw a Diablo which made my day...

What a trip, 1728 miles, all in a former Challenge car, A032R soft compound tires and all...

I can't even begin to describe how awesome this trip was. We had been told our GP track speeds were only going to be in the 70 mph range, however, I hit 130 on the front straight, the 430 and a few others indicated 155! Then we ran the section between the front and back straights over and over again!!! Not to mention three days at IRP. I wish everyone could experience this. Hats off to all of the folks who made this happen, Mike, Joe, Patrick, and all the people on the committee, and oh yeah, my friends that got me and my new friend out of jail- Mark, Jim, Rick, Tray, Trevor, and the others. You guys, and one gal, are great!
