Well after looking for the past seven months I have finally taken delivery of a 355 Spider in red with crema in manual. It looks amazing, although it takes getting used to the offset pedals. Does anyone else find it a problem and if so is there a solution?

Also when you put the roof down, I have so far not managed to do it first time. The bleeper sounds but no movement, so then I push it up some more and eventually it starts moving. How far back should I have to push it or is there a fault?

Has anyone, uprated the speakers as I think one has blown, and is it straighforward?

The exhaust is on my list and from what I'v read here the Capristo is the way to go.

    Will post some pictures soon.

    Comments appreciated

    Darren

May be its just a sensitive switch. Mine goes back and beeps and as its going back the windows go down a bit, check that yours do.
Any way have you any pics dude?:D

Congrats on new car :) As Chaz says, the roof is unlatched and pushed back till you hear a beep. Keep finger on roof button with doors closed, windows will drop and seats go fwd as roof comes down. Sound system is pants but bothered! Change that stock exhuast ASAP

My roof goes just short of half way before it beeps. I'm paranoid about the battery dying so I always do the seat and windows with the engine running then the last bit of the roof is done with the engine off.
In fact I play a game with myself to see if I can get the seats in the right position with the engine on, if when I press the roof button the seats move at all then I loose.....................laugh it up but you'll all secretly play it now, admit it!
I've just looked into getting my ICE sorted but I don't really want to mess with the panels. Fitting a sub is possible in the foot-well, the boot or if you don't have to have the seats all the way back you could fit shallow speakers behind you.

It seems that the norm is for a sports exhaust. People have mixed reactions to this and there's plenty of brands available. Tubi and Capristo seem to be the most publicised ........are they worth it? I don't know. Listen to few then make your choice. I've just got a set of tubi test pipes which I'm gonna fit when I get my exhaust fitted.............I haven't bought an exhaust yet or decided which one (from the range of £500 to £2000)coz I'm not bored of the standard engine/exhaust sound!

    Good luck and good choice.

    Roof thing sounds normal.

My speakers have been upgraded - two were fitted into the door cards, two were fitted onto the sides of the footwells - this meant relocating the bonnet release. Was also a sub box located between the footwells - but this i took out as im no fan of base in this type of car.
Speakers look ok.(But i wish theyd just left the bloomin thing alone and kept it original!!)

yeah quite agree!! My windows dont go up again (thankfully) as the next move is always down !!

Defo sounds like you roof is normal, they are all a little quirky sometimes anyway. If it starts making wierd noises as the roof goes down, the hydraulics probably just need bleeding.

Roof needs bleeding and check nothing in frotn or behind seats as sensors dont like stuff cluttering up seat channel...

Yes I upgraded speakers and sound system but had it custom made so as not to spoil car interior...sub box is located behind passenger seat but small (only 150w ) so i can hear music with roof down at pace.. Apline until and handbuilt speakers still behind carpet in original position (great sound but of course carpet affect quality (bothered!!) and new tweeters in original position..

However at full chat all i can hear is my eardrums bleeding from the exhaust... that is definitely the first thing to do - stuff the sound system...get a capristo / tubi or if you can stretch to it an ITO but they are rare and expensive ...capristo pretty good from what i have heard....

If you consider any other upgrades give me a shout as I ahve pretty much done everything possible without harming the car in essence...but I won't bore everyone with the details...

Last month i did a detailed post on bleeding the roof. It was a responce to a guy asking the same bleeding question:D Use the search button to find it. Put in these words "355 spider top" you will find the question about half way down the page, my responce is there.
