in the dark in the end, with a wild thunderstorm chasing

    1. On Ticker No Difference to sound
    2. In Non Race mainly feels bassier
    3. In Race its a whole new experience, above 4,5 K RPM
you hear the exhaust value very distinctly switch and its suddenly
    much more
" on the money " and lively than before and noisier but you
can almost here the engine breathe, far more like a racing
    car and it pulls
    4. No check lights

I would guess about 8 KG each ( 16KG total ) , whereas the UPS package was no more than 7 KG in total

Not only sounds better in RACE but goes much better too its MUCH more eager to let rip and this morning do notice a difference at ticker over too; almost as if you can hear the engine through the exhaust, which is stupid I know

In the cold morning air, If you spent 200K on a Stradale you have to go this final leg (3K) as Udalmia says with his test pipes, it unleashes the car and the noise !!!

I have no affiliations with Hyper-flow and paid the full list price but boy is it money well spent

Wow, so the Hyper-Flow cats with a Tubi NGT ( I believe 23 lbs. less) would save about 45 lbs? Gets us a lot closer to the claimed weight savings of the CS vs. 360 and it's from the tail, where it really matters.

Less weight, less heat and more hp?

    It's all good!

CS owners : Dont think, just do ! Trust me you'll never regret it

if 3k is steep for some, get test pipes !

    utkarsh,

any warrantee issues? w/ porsche, they would void for changing cat.s....

car runs completely fine - no lights - always reliable?

how much louder than stock? i actually dont want any more noise, just lighter weight and more performance

    thanks

Drove my Stradale to Richards house last night and took his newly catted Stradale for a spin (not literally!). Firstly, the pictures above do not do these cats justice, compared to the OEM cats they're tiny. Back to back, there's a more gravelly sound at lower rpm and once the exhaust bypass opens after 4500rpm then the sound is again more gravelly, deeper/richer than stock. From the "seat-of-the-pants-o-meter", I couldn't discern a performance difference between my car and Richards but I wasn't "pushing it" through the Zürich hillsides (especially not in someone elses car!). I'd love to hear and feel the difference between the cars at a track...maybe later in the summer ;-)

Hey Brian, how have you been?

Curious, does your CS have more miles on it than Richard's? My V8 Ferraris continued to get faster until around 7500 miles before they leveled off, could that explain not feeling a difference in power?

I've been good, thanks. Plenty of track days in the Renault & CS and yes the CS does get looser/better over time/miles.

My car's done around 5500 miles: basically driving to the track, doing the laps, then home. Richards' car has less miles than mine and little track exposure. I'm sure that goes some way towards explaining why both cars felt similar.

I've asked my F-car mechanic about the Hyper-Flow cats. If he's comfortable with them and will honour warranty etc. then I may have them installed later in the summer.

For now though, my lap times improve with track-time/practice, performance/suspension mods come later.

Can I just remove the cats???? Will that cause the engine check light to come on (or any other warning and problem)??

Well you will need something in place, so if no hyper-flo, you can get testpipe(straight pipe). but the check engine light will come on, no problem at all, just in case your engine does have a failure you will not know because your light is always on.

i am very interested in hyper-flow cats for my stradales. i have heard enough positive comments to convince me. but i am concerned about warranty issues. not so much CEL problems because i've been told that the hyper-flow cats integrate nicely and have all the sensors, etc. so you won't have CEL problems. i called the service manager at my local ferrari dealer and asked his opinion. he immediately told me that ferrari will absolutely without question void the remaining warranty. period. no room for discussion. he told me that a ferrari service representative frequently visits the various ferrari dealers and the guy actually takes quick looks at the various newer cars in the service bay to see if they have been modified in a way that they feel will void the warranty. the guy logs the VIN number and the mod to be used if future warranty issues crop up.

i don't know if this is true or not, but the service manager i spoke to felt it was absolutely true... my feelings are that you can probably get away with installing hyper-flow cats because the odds are probably small that the ferrari service rep will happen to see your car when he happens to be visiting the dealer when your car happens to be in for service. i bet that in faxct most ferrari service departments will "look the other way" if a warranty repair is required. BUT if you happen to be unlucky it's possible that ferrari could void your warranty.

anybody else have any experience on this topic?

Its all up to the dealer.

    Put it this way:
You walk into your authorized dealer, say you want the CAT. They buy it from Hyper-flo, they install it, they hit you with a $5k bill, then I am sure they have the understanding that it will be warranteed.
If you get a bargain deal somewhere online on the hyper-flo cats yourself, install it yourself or at some independant shop, your dealer makes no money on the job, then I will not be surprised if they say warranty is voided.
