The ideal car is $9,600 over NADA "High Retail" at Foreign Cars Italia
in Greensboro, NC. I prefer a private-party sale, where a Ferrari
dealer does not rip me off for $10,000-$15,000 too high a purchase price.
(The dealer is asking $59,900 for a 1988 GTS in Red with Tan seats:
exactly what I'd like, but way too high on price.) Does anyone know of a low-mileage, ultra-clean, mechanically excellent (no work required) 328 GTS or GTB in the Mid-Atlantic region? Any sale would be for cash, with no financing required. I live in the Boone, North Carolina area...about 100 miles NW of Charlotte, NC.

Did you happen to catch all the 928s in Banner Elk last month?

how low a mileage car are you talking about? Low mileage is not neccessarily a good thing.... especially with a Ferrari in the age range you're looking at. Try collectorcartrader.com for private party or Luxury Car Network. Good Luck

    Mach 2,
Have patience and wait for the right car you are looking for at the right price. They are out there. It takes a little patience and investigation. My search took 2 years but I was finally able to find what I was looking for through a private sale. It's a black / black 88 328 GTS with 34K miles and I picked it up last week from a great person in Raleigh. He kept great care of the car and had it recenlty serviced so it was mechanically sound when I picked it up.

You are right about dealers charging a premium, which is why I preferred looking for a private sale. Check out FerrariAds.com or CollectorCarTraderOnline.com. There are also other sites for you to review, just search old threads.

Red/Tan is the most common color combination for that car, so you should be able to find something faster than I found mine. Good luck!

Good luck, I have been looking for the same thing for almost a year now. If you want an exceptionally clean, low mileage car--you better jump at the one you are referring to. The price has been rising on the clean 328's for about 6 months now. The dealer 's price is the asking price, haggle with him alittle --you never know. If not maybe I will take a ride down south--Where was it again??
