Post a random fact about yourself

I played varsity soccer in high school in the 9th grade. I couldn't continue to play in 10th grade due to a car accident which fractured and fused the SI joint (pelvis) and a closed head injury on top of that.

 

I can trace my family tree as far back as the French Revolution in 1792, when a nobleman escaped the guillotine by disappearing in Italy. One of my cousins in Rome has a painting of him.

 

Interesting! My family is in a similar situation. We can trace our heritage directly back until the 1500s in Scotland. We have a huge encyclopedia of our family history. Not too many people of note except for Jon Witherspoon, signer of the Declaration of Independence, President of Princeton University, etc.

 

I hang left. But barely.

 

I moved in with my wife on our first date. I married her in Central Park on the one year anniversary of our first date.

Dad's family is pure Viking on both sides. Mom is a descendant of Attila the Hun.

Got drunk with "the" Burt Reynolds in the blues bar of the now closed 100 year old "King Edward Hotel" here in Calgary a few years back.

 

i was just passing through on a back way to Avalon.

 

I think there's now a medical procedure that can correct that.


When I was 14 I chipped my front tooth by cycling into my grandmother's parked car. I wasn't looking where I was going because I was checking out some pretty lady walking down the street. No, she didn't check to see if I was ok.

 

That reminds me of something that happened a few years ago. One of the dancers for the Saints used to live across the street from me. She used to always be outside working in hardly any clothes. Some guy was riding his bicycle and watching her. He rode off the road into the ditch in front of the house. She didn't check to see if he was ok either.

 

Speaking of teeth getting chipped,

When I was 8, the day before we moved from San Diego to San Jose, I went down our famous hill on my skateboard, on my knees, and went off the sidewalk and took out both front teeth to the gum linein a perfect half moon. I had the left tooth "cap" fall out 6 times and the right one 5 times before I got them fixed 4 years ago. My 4th and 5th grade pictures I was missing at least half of one tooth.

I lost my virginity at 6 years old and told my frantic parents hours later when I mysteriously showed up in front of school where I was and what I was doing. I'm lucky to be alive.

 

I'm so relieved to hear that I'm not the only idiot to have done this!
