#1751, one of the last pre-Gibsons, even though the serials differ with what they say about the market. My bass teacher was a dealer and had #850, which is a 6 string classic. I liked the thicker sound and opted for the basic. The size of #1751 is a bit bigger than the tiny #850, and the latter is just gorgeous as well. The 6 has been with me since April 13th of 1992. Bought new, ordered and it was moved up due to a cancellation of an order. I originally wanted an ebony fretboard, but the ebony being shipped over there at the time wasn't in that great shape, so I stuck with the standard Pau Ferro. Tone is everything. Oh yes... oh yes. And for random thoughts: I'll be trying out for a band this Saturday. Nothing big, but small, local, established.
Good luck...about all I have time for these days is an occasional jam with some friends. The drummer built a nice music room in his basement. Once the kids get a little older, maybe I'll be able to find some more time. I guess that can bring me back to this thread...I once played at the House of Blues in Chicago. Yes, on stage.
Very cool Dean. I haven't played any clubs, let alone the HoB before, only many college parties. Since then, lack of time. But this year, things are a bit different. So things are looking up. Even if I don't get in, it will be a fun jam. The songs are cake to start off with (no, not the band cake), and I hope to at least put a groove in there instead of straight 8's. Ugh. Michael Anthony would lay down better grooves than this. Random fact: Family Guy is on. My attention is elsewhere.
I was just dropped off at my house (and other such things) by a Victoria's Secret model. Pics will be forthcoming.. if you're lucky. C.
I had so many tickets at one point that I got a letter from the Governor politely informing me that if I got one more in the next six months they were going to pull my license. I don't speed any more. I don't speed any less either
Random fact - I'm the only person (well, pretty much) who bothers to post pics on the Bikin Thread, despite loads of views.
The only times I've hopped into cars with strangers by myself is when they've been driving Ferraris (only twice!). The first time was on a run with the Ferrari Owners' Club in 2003 and my husband crashed my MR2 into a fence at the same time.
my first ride in a Ferrari was on a race track in a Ferrari 360 Modena with a driver who happened to be very good looking.
When I was about 8 I saw this dumb horror movie called The Gate, where the gates of hell supposedly open under a suburban house. At one point these monster arms reach out from under the bed and try to grab the young hero. To this day, when I'm alone I still jump onto the bed and avoid the area underneath.
You're not alone there Ryan! Its really pretty amazing how something like that is almost a natural fear with everybody. Well, I know for a fact that there are monsters underneath my bed. I have so much junk under my bed that I havent cleaned it in 7 years. I know for a fact that there are many spiders underneath there
Here is another interesting fact about me. I was actually born in Yemen. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've never had the chicken pox or vaccine, although I've been exposed numerous times. My brother is the same way.
worst fear #1 - hitting a child with a car. worst fear #2 - getting in an accident where the car in front of me had long pipes and they would be projected towards me at such a speed that any internals of my body would still be in the same place, with the exception of the division by the tubing. strange, I know, but don't dwell on it.
