I'm trying to run a wire from the passenger footwell area to the trunk in my 328. (Same ideas should apply to 308.)

There is a group of say, a group of 20 or so wires going to the back of the car already from this area. Best I can tell, is that they go through the center console (behind gearshift lever, under heater controls, etc.) then through the rear firewall to get into the engine bay area... Somewhere, a group of about 9 or so of these wires end up in the back left of the trunk. I basically want to trace that path.

Any ideas on how to do this? I suppose I need to remove some access panels underneath the car? (Uggh--I think I need a lift to really do this effectively... right?)

Other notes: I have investigated every wire already going back to the trunk, and am not able to replace or piggyback off of any of them. Obviously, they all serve an important purpose. Also, tapping +12V from somewhere in the engine bay (say, the starter) won't work for this application either.

    Thanks...

Not sure if the 328 is the same, but on my '84 308, there is a tube molded into the fiberglass under the cabin. You need to get under the car to get to it. I had to put all four wheels off the ground 12" so be able to work on that part of the car.

The tube starts just under the battery compartment in the front, and ends just at the engine bay in the back. It has other wire and brake lines (if I recall) in there - but there is enough room for 2-3 more wires. You need to use a snake, you can't just push a wire through.

Get an electrician snake (thin and flat spring wire) and feed it through the tube, when it comes out the other end, tape the new wire to the snake and pull it back through the tube.

I used to to power a fan I mounted on the oil cooler. Ran the wire from the front radiator fan circuit to the oil cooler.

    Good luck,
    Phil

I ran a couple in my 308. I pulled out the center console to do it.

In my 328 someone ran wires under carpet in center then behind Pass seat into right rear wheel well. In the wheel well they went up and over the suspension.
