    the rust is not that bad. the rust on the cowl should not require welding, i *think* it can be repaired without removing the glass and trim. if the glass must come out i will go ahead and pull the whole dash out and redo the whole forward bulkhead.

    my GTB is much faster. the GTB is a sports car and the gt4 is a better riding highway (touring) car. i have no regrets, i like both as they have different personalities.

    Enjoy in good health. Did you have the prev owner reinstall the original seats?

    Congratulations on finally getting her. Looks great.

    Am interested in your quote that GTB is much faster. Why would that be? As we discussed in earlier threads, the weight, HP, and torque figures should be extremely similar. Any reasons why you feel the GTB is faster?

    Great find, I'm glad it turned out even better than you had hoped. Did the prev. owner have that stereo installed over the rear seats? Or did he remove them for the stereo? They look great and I didn't see any obvious marks from the speaker boxes.

    I think a tune up on the GT4 is order. I have chased a '75 GT4 in my 308 (which is fairly quick for a '78) and it was work to keep up.

    I agree; needs some work. The GT4 is a fast car (relatively speaking), and if yours isn't then it's likely the carbs are out of sync and not working together. I drove my little Lotus 2 years and thought it was okay quick but I had nothing to compare it with. When I synched the carbs, I thought I had 50 extra horses; the diffenece was startling.

    those are the original seats, yes. what you cant see is the drivers side bolster has a hole in it. i asked them to keep the stero stuff. the door panels, carpet, headliner ect have been redone with original materials. i want to do the seats in cream leather or whtever mathces the console et al.

    I'm jealous...this car was 30 minutes from me and I didn't even know it. This is exactly what I want...a project car with the mechanicals in great shape. It would be fun to redo the interior and paint. Let me know if you see another one like this in South Florida :)

    Many congrats Mr. Reaper. I hope the car brings you many hours of enjoyment as I know it will. The engine looks stunning and the interior looks great also. A repaint very very soon is in order. That black hood and the blacked out rear beside the tailights looks bad, but I know that is temporary.

    yea the black hood sucks :) . there is only on spot of rust that will be tricky to fix, the rest is no big deal.

    actually , no i havent said anything on the forum yet, but i have had a real problem getting fchat to load the last few days. sometimes the site locks up when i click on my PM list. i need to clean it out, but sheesh!!! i am running late for work so please resend your PM. thank you, Michael

    as a matter of fact there is a set of the 16's for sale in the ads section on this site. $500 for all of them is a great buy , I checked with seller on the price, with all the $ you saved on the car I would upgrade those black things on it, they just dont look right to me.

    ...you got a smok'n deal for 13K. The GT/4 should be every bit as fast as the GTB. It should actually handle better and have a smoother ride too. You should really have a lot fun with the Dino. Looks way better than you described in your earlyer posts. Enjoy! Great posts by the way!
