WTF !!!! THE IMPLANTS HAVE TO COME OUT

Obviously not seeing the surgical site, I don't know, but any time artificial material is in the body, if infection starts, it is virtually impossible to stop with out removing the object, whether it is a hip prosthesis, penile prosthesis or breast prosthesis.

Believe me the doc HATES this. It is the last thing he would ever want. Its more work, likely for no pay with greater chance of unhappy patient and all that implies. Docs HATE this stuff!!!!

So far I've never had to remove a prosthetic device, but if you have to, its better to just go ahead and do it, let it heal up and re-implant.

I know that does not sound good to the patients family but it really is the truth. Best of luck John, I'm sure it will turn out good in the end!

 

That does suck...hope everything turns out ok...I'm sure they will eventually get to put them back in....Minor setback but in the end, you'll appreciate them that more!

 

seena, for your info, we have a 7 month old baby which im tending to, and her mother is with her per her request.

 

uro, there was no infection. the insertion area in one little area was not healing, probably about 1/4 inch in size. it looked like a round little hole.

That's really odd. Again, your doc wouldn't take them out if there was any other alternative.

So, you’re hoping she won’t get discouraged about the implants and she’ll get put back in for her own sake?

Once again you’re looking at this in relation to how you’ll view your wife if she has to go back to her natural breast.

No where have you posted how concerned you are for her.

And I did not know about your new baby. No where in this thread have you stated that was the fact until I posted. Seems like a pretty great gal to have just had a child and to jump immediately into doing this for you.

 

Senna21, if there's anything you will learn by reading John's posts, is that you should look before you jump... as in, don't take him seriously at face value as a general rule.

If you read back to his massive the wife is going to get them thread, there's nothing wrong with being concerned and disappointed.

You don't sound like you like to have ANY fun at all. We know thats not true, but its how you come across similiar to how you perceive John as coming across.

Call a truce, give it a rest.

Charles your point is taken....... I'd give it a rest. I don't know John & he is clearly more flip on the topic then I would be, but I don't see where you have to condemn him. Clearly the posts on this topic were in fun, which is the primary focus of this board. I too was a little surprised he was on Fchat and not by her side, but he explained that to you. I didn't need an explanation because, one, it's not my business.... and, two, I figured there was a good reason......which there was.

If you want to show your a stand up guy, just refrain from more criticism and hope this all turns out well, because obviously something has gone very wrong and she has to endure more pain because of it.

thanks guys for the support !!!!!!!!!!! she is home now and peed off reallllllllllllly bad. she says she wants to get them redone but is going to get 2 more opinions first. she has to wait 3 months before doing it again. to clear up one thing, it was her decision to go through with this not mine from the very start. i supported her in that like any good husband would do. what i find amazing is that she is talking about going bigger, god bless her.

senna, apology accepted ! these guys for the most part know how much of a goof off i can be or even an a hole, but i do have a serious side as well when need be. i like to come on here and goof around with my f chat brothers, kinda like going to the bar with the buds and laughing. its water under the bridge, so lets get on with the threads.

Needless to say...this is VERY serious stuff. Also likely needless to say, is that you should thoroughly explore and research exactly why this happened. Is it normal? Does this happen often? Does this suggest that your wife is a poor candidate for breast enhancement and it should not be re-attempted?? What other alternatives are there?

Not to scare you, but there are some botched jobs that result in terrible problems and the such. PLEASE research the heck out of this, get a couple different opinions and make sure it's safe to proceed.

You don't need to thank me or any of the other guys here for the advice...we just want to see pics of the final results...purely forr, uh...medical purposes only!
