Healing issues might call for a blood-sugar check -- just to be sure. MDs check me here: Would excess sugar in the diet impact healing, even without type 2 diabetes?

Ya, but it takes bigger balls posting here about problems with your own nuts!.....Maybe we should have a sticky: "Ask Uro" !
Wow, a little late John but sorry to here the bad news. I hope she gets well soon and the new ones take better.
John: You might want to have the doctor do a CBC panel and a wound culture on the wound. There could be a couple of possibilitis why the wound is not healing. Being a physician myself, this is one of the worst surgical complication. You do the work twice and fear of further complications i.e. repeat infections or scarring (keloids). An implant is like any other foreign body being put inside the body. The saline implants are actually made of silicone impregnated with saline solution. I've had some patients who has strange allergic reaction to silicone, rubber, and latex products. I sometimes do a spot test before implanting a foreign body into some subjectcs. The vicryl/absorbable suture used underneath the skin for wound closure can also lead to irritation and allergic reaction though this is very rare. Check the wound site for any redness, warmth, drainage (bloody or cheesy), and take your wife's body temperature to make sure she is not septic. There are a lot of MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus bugs) in the community. Sometimes you really can't blame the doctor for this mishap to occur. Bad outcomes do happen in surgery. You never know which case will turn out badly. It's hard to sue a physician due to the complicated informed consent patients sign before each procedure. Unless you can prove the physician is indeed negligent and practices medicine below standard of care. You really don't have much of a case. PM me if you need more info or if I can help you with anything. Ken
Hey guys....whoever sent the roses......VERY classy move. I'm very impressed, and quite personally, proud to be apart of F-chat (not that I wasn't before...but this only expands that). Is there anyway I can help out financially? Please send me a PM if I can. Thanx guys.
WE had to be sneaky about it on Rossa so that John wouldn't find out. Then, at the last minute, we consulted with him to make sure we wouldn't put him in a , shall we say, difficult position with his lovely bride. Turned out great, she's happy, he's happy, we're all happy. DM
you guys rock. LetsJet....man......hats off to you. If anything like this should come up again...please let me know.
