Kimi Raikkonen failed to record a time in the fourth and final practice session... another mechanical failure at McLaren.
Good Morning F1 fans, The big news today is that Kimi Raikkonen has again run into trouble with another engine failure. This means that he will have to go back 10 places on the grid once again!!! http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns15220.html
Good morning Imperial and others - thanks for the update, I figured something went amiss when the second session showed him with no time. It should prove to be interesting as I heard the tv guys saying last week that JPM said he'd help his teammate. Because of the current point standing, JPM surely can't win but could act as a blocker until Kimi gets back up front (maybe!) Qualifying is on in about 40 minutes - time to go turn the tv on. Carol
Good day to you Malc - sounds good. When Speed goes to commercials, I usually come in here to the computer to formula 1 so will bring up FChat too. Have a great day - qualifying should be interesting. Let's hope that Michael has lots of fuel on board to explain his middle of the pack placings in practice. Carol
Unbelievable. Everything seems to be going wrong for everyone this season except for Alonso, with the exception of Canada, which was his fault anyway! GRR. The chances of a close championship battle towards the end of the season get slimmer and slimmer... thanks to the idiotic 10 place penalty. Mosley's magic strikes again.
I have heard that Michael and Rubens use the practice sessions to simulate race conditions with race fuel load. So I am not shocked to see them lower dowin in the timings during practice because other drivers are possibly on low fuel. Friday test drivers are on a different rev setting all together. If JPM holds up Alonso and Michael can catch up to them, it can be an interesting 4 or 5 way battle. Lets hope for a good race.
