I've been lurking about for the past several months, and finally got around to registering. I'm currently an active member of a Toyota message board (my first car was a beautiful '91 Toyota Celica (rust in peace)), but the USGP incident combined with my dreams of an F-car caused me to start visiting here more often. Anyway, my current fun car is an '84 Nissan 300zx that needs some work. At any rate, howdy.

I still regret selling it, now I drive a 911

enjoy checking in as you never get over that joy of ferrari

Hey my name is Michael, I'm from Adelaide, Australia and I am 15. Right now I am looking to learn more about Ferraris and any other type of exotics. I mainly look in the Australian area but I don't really post much because I'm only 15 and I'm in school and I've decided since I got to high school and started appreciating exotic cars that it is important to try your best while your in school so you may one day own that Ferrari so during the school week I try and concentrate on school and then as a reward later on at night I come on and look at all my forums I 'lurk' around in as a reward. Today was my last day of school and now I'm on a 2 week holiday so I will be looking around here and maybe posting a bit more during then.

hi, my name is Shaun and I live in Cambridge, MA. I don't own a Ferrari but would like to someday, dream car would be a GTO. Unfortunately I've got a serious addiction to 911s having 3 now, a 69E that I'm restoring as a european café racer, an 84 Targa daily driver (soon to be a cab) and a dedicated track car project using a 73 tub.

At this point in my life, I'm not ready for a Ferrari. You can strip a 911 down to bare metal and rebuild it easily with readily available parts. You can take an 84 Targa, put in a full race suspension that's still streetable, 996 wheels, cut the targa bar and rear window out and make it a cabriolet (custom fiberglass coupe-style hardtop) and it will actually increase in value, let alone never having to worry about desecration issues. :)

Anyway, when I lose the itch to rebuild/restore/modify, I'll definitely be looking for a Ferrari.

    Cheers to all!

Hi to all F- chatters, my name is Anthony. i dont have a f- car yet, but i know that some day i will. i am obssesed with FERRARI full stop, and never take my mind of them, one of my goals in to own one and i DO KNOW that i will own 1 as i am a hard working guy and that all my hard workings will pay off. My goal in life is happy with my family and have the ultimate family car the the 456gt or the 612. This to me is not a dream.
What i really would ilike to hear from f-chatters is how people have worked their way in buying their F-car/s.
For some people it is easy, they do have that kind of money to get one like that, but for some people they have had to work for it and start from the bottom to get to the top, and thats what i am trying to do.

Before getting this car, I would never think listening clips of exhaust sounds, but now I can't get enough!!! I'm a female in the western suburbs of Chicago! Honk if you see a NART blue ferrari cruising around!

"Lurker" doesn't really qualify for me, but "Newbie" surely does. I joined the group a few days ago.
I'm in Colorado and am admittedly a quickly recovering Lotus owner. After owning (being owned by) a Lotus Europa Special that I assembled from boxes of parts, I decided it was due time to investigate more reliable (who'd say that about a Ferrari!) exotic transport. I've been a Ferrari fan my whole life and have been in denial about really bucking up and buying one. I'm not getting any younger, and Ferrari's aren't getting any cheaper, but the lust isn't going away.

After initially being scared by all the rumors about Ferrari maintenance, I decided to investigate the truth myself and will be using this forum among others to decide when, what, and if I am going to purchase.

I'm currently very interested in a 348 spyder, but haven't made up my mind yet, as I have some time before I'm fully ready to begin searching for The car. The ultimate for me would be a 512BB, injected or carburated, but I'm financially limited to a different model for now.

Thanks All for the great information so far!

My name is Tim and I live in Honolulu, HI. I'm 26 and I'm a mechanical engineer. I've been a car nut since birth. I'd like to start out with a 308 and go from there. Who wouldn't want to drive a red 308 in Hawaii? I'm trying to convince my wife to let me buy a one on the basis that I can rent it out when I'm not using it. Is there anyone here that vacations on Oahu? :)

"I know that the first post to a community like this can be intimidating"

Get over it. Its a message board for cars!
I have not posted as I do not have much to add. I do not, or plan to own a Ferrari.
Longtime favorite would be an F-40 though.
Have attended the Concorso Italiano and view many of these cars as "Art".
Many F cars in my area. Also enjoy wandering around Crystal Cove
    on occasional Saturday mornings.
I know several folks here, and enjoy reading the posts.
    Keep up the good work!

That's better, I feel like much less of a "Lurker".

Although I posted a fair bit a year or so back, I devolved into a lurker after the format change - I will now attempt to participate on more regular basis! I am a 37 year old DC lawyer (I know, I know) that practices aviation and antitrust law with a big firm. I have been a Tifosi for years, attend at least one GP every year, and, unfortunately, do not currently own a Ferrari. On the other hand, until recently I owned a BMW M Coupe with the license plate "WLLMSF1" and currently own a similarly ugly car, a WRX STi. I do hope to enter the realm in the near future, though, since we recently sold some property in Alexandria, VA, and made a little profit, some of which I am considering putting towards a slightly used Maser Coupe. Cheers, Jon Linde

Hey guys. My name is Michael Opp, I'm 17 and I live in Redding, CA. Moved up from the bay area like everyone else and deeply miss the occassional siting of an F-car. I have been hooked on Ferrari's since I was 8 and realized at the age of 13 that a 308 GTS QV was my destiny. Now all thats left is getting a hold on my education and working hard to hopefully fulfill my dreams of living a comfortable life with an F-car.

P.S. I truly enjoy all the posts here and enthusiasm for the Ferrari marque and am thankful to pick up this much information from a great crowd.

I realize that I am in the shadow of the *premier urologist* on this board, but maybe I will learn a few things....

Hi, my name is Stewart and I live in the suburbs of Philly. My daily driver is a BMW X5.

I am currently plotting on a 308 or 328. The wife has given her O.K. but I have to have a garage built first.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Other than reading the old posts what should I do to educate myself as to how to pick a good car when I'm ready. HELP!

    Thanks in advance,
    Stew

    Hi all

Nice site and I'm amazed how flippantly you guys can talk about such beautiful machinery that others can only dream about. Ah it's all good.

Living in London now and don't have car at the moment. No real reason to have one seeing I never leave zone 1 (i.e. central london) but this forum is inspiring. No ferraris in my street unfortunately except for a 550 which gathers dust around the corner.
