1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him? 2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be? 3. There are two plastic jugs filled with water. How could you put all of this water into a barrel, without using the jugs or any dividers, and still tell which water came from which jug? 4. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away? 5. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? 6. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out.
I remember a thread about the first riddle: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23745&highlight=lions+years
Riddle: Why do Sumo wrestlers shave their legs? . . . . . . . So they won't be mistaken for lesbians.
I want someone to agree with me - the "dead lions" answer to riddle #1 is stupid, if it's correct. Read the question: You're a murderer, condemned to DEATH. If you rule out the room full of raging fires, you have two choices; 1) You look in this room, and "it is full of lions that haven't eaten in three years." OK, the lions are dead, this room is rancid. There is no sign of life, except maybe the flies and maggots. You're condemned to death, remember???? Do you think you are going to survive for long in a room full of dead lions? Are your captors going to say, "Oh, we were just kidding about the death sentence, we just want you to sit in a room full of dead lions for a while!" 2) You look in this room, and it's full of assassins with loaded guns!! It doesn't have an electric chair in it. There is no sign of a gas chamber, or a hangman's noose. Just assassins (MURDERERS, LIKE YOU!) who are still alive, and they even have loaded guns! I know which room I would choose, and there are no dead lions in it!
I stewed over that one for a while.. I'm glad I wasn't completely out of my gourd for thinking the same thing. C.
I was thinking, if the lions have been hungry for 3 years and haven't eaten each other, they are declawed, toothless and harmless. Hence my choice was the lions... Assassins...dunno. It didn't sound too safe without a gun. Overally, I have to agree, it was a bizarre, nonsensical riddle.
