    By doing it myself, it cost about $120 in materials (fiberglass, kevlar, epoxy, bondo), and I paid someone I know who has a compressor and nice paint gun $300 to shoot the paint and clear and fill in some of the smaller chips, etc. Total = $420. The big expense (as with most body work) was my time which was about 6 hours.

    Thanks. So a realistic estimate for a do-it-yourself repair (versus the $1,600 for a new unpainted bumper) would be 6 hours plus $420.

    I don't even need a bumper repair and I still find that good information to know!
