I cooked my brakes last weekend on the track (unfamilar with the line, over use of the brakes on my part) and I now need to flush the fluid. Anyone use Castrol SRF in their 355? I'm not sure if the shared use of the fluid with the tranny impacts the type of fluid you choose for the brakes. I also have a bunch of Motul lying around that I use in my regular track car. Would this stuff work?

Anything tricky with flushing the brakes on this car that is unique and makes the job tougher than any other car?

SRF is way, way, way overkill. I use ATE, but Motul is fine. Save yourself 60 bucks. Heck, Ford HD is fine, if you flush/bleed often. Do a search of the archives, lots of posts (including ones from me) on this topic. Get better pads too. I use PFC-97, about $107 per axle, work FANTASTICALLY well.

No tricks to flushing/bleeding. It's actually quite easy, just don't forget to bleed the INSIDE nipple on each caliper as well.

I think a lot of people overkill when it comes to brake fluid. Here is my situation. Car weighs 3150 with me in it. Car gets run monthly at Road Atlanta and has about 380 hp at the crank. Front brakes are ducted. I use Hawk blues on front and PFC 97 on the rear.

I use Prestone DOT 4 brake fluid and have never had a problem. Prestone DOT 4 costs a little over $2 for 12 fluid ounces. Fluid gets changed every other month but is bled monthly.

Motul it is, especially since I have plenty to spare. I would rather go with overkill as it prevents the need for as many flushes. It it doesn't boil, no need for as many flushes. I just top off as the pads wear and the pistons extend themselves.
