    How much does a 30000 major run on a 348 including
    a water pump while engine is out?

    Parts alone will run you about $1000-$1800 depending on if you get a brand new water pump, or rebuild you current one. The laybor depends on the shop rate. Some dealers will quote around $6,000 +/- $500 for the whole job.

    Or you can do the job yourself and save a few thousand. For all the parts, and all the tools needed to to the job, it cost me about $2,800. That was for everything.

    5-6 grand, incl water pump-just had same exact work done in feb... in NY

    Depends on what year your 348 is.
    Earlier productions had some modifications that should be done.
    Especially look at the bearing that drives the timimg chain. If you have to replace the bearings, tensioners as well as the cam cover mods you might go as high as 7500.

    That iswhat i spend in Connecticut in 2003.
    The labor to do the job was 40 hours at 75.00 per hour which i thought was very reasonable.
    You can do the math as to where the rest of the money went. Enzo is taking it with him!
