FCHAT Meeting @ 11.Modena Motorsport Ferrari Track Days 2005

well, I do have a close contact to a huge number of 512M/S and Porsche 917 owners and some of them would love to join our event if they get invitation (means: the organizer or sponsors have to pay for shipping their cars, the mechanics, hotels and all that).

Of course I fully understand them - it's bloody expensive nowadays to arrange a participation and commercial events like Goodwood have that money.

However, I get some of the most beautiful Ferrari / Maserati / Porsche / Jag / Alfa SuperSportsCars which give the right mixture and atmosphere. I'm really thankfull when friends like Belgian Marc Devis managed to bring his Alfa Tipo 33/2 Daytona just for the 1st day to do me a favour despite he participate to another event the follwing day in another country. That's enthusiasm, loyality and friendship - three major foundations of our "Modena Motorsport Ferrari Track Days"

Wolfgang, I'd LOVE to come to the Modena Track Days - but the sentence on my car is clear: BENT LEFT REAR WHEEL. I can't drive high speed (nasty vibration over 140Km/h, gets better over 240 Km/h but it's not safe to drive like that for 500Kms on the Autobahn ).

It will take 3 weeks for a Swiss specialist to fix the bent rim. Until then, my car will sadly sit in the garage wearing its tiny spare wheel

we don't publish the pre-entry list because of the "Concours d' Elegance" but you will see all the important Ferrari types of the `50s, `60s, `70s up to the modern ones.

There's a small chance I'm going too, but it'll be Friday only. Though I haven't found any more info on the Saturday rally... Is there a route with times yet? Or where does it start? What cars can I expect to participate and how many?
Oh and by the way, is the Nordschleife open on Saturday?

 

yes, but only in the evening. it's open from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm

Reservation is made at the Dorint hotel so I will join this event both thursday and friday!

I'll be there. I'll be driving in convoy with four or five classic Ferraris from the Schermerhorn collection. We'll arrive Thursday in the afternoon. Just come and see what they are!

It'll be my first drive in a classic Ferrari so if you see someone with a permanent smile on his face, that'll be me

I don't know yet, but it will be a fifties car. I'm sure it will be nice for everyone to see. You really shouldn't miss out on this event! It has been one of my favorites. Plenty to see, from classics to modern F1 cars. It's all there.

You lucky guy. Driven lots of classic, vintage cars and veteran cars, but never a classic pre-70's V12 ferrari. Hope its good weather for you.

I would have loved to come this year, but I only just got back from 3 weeks holiday....my boss doesn't know who I am any more

Enjoy it everyone. Take lots of pictures for the rest of us, especially the vintage stuff.
