Does anyone know when the new S-class is going to be selling in America? Thats why I held off from upgrading to a 05' S-class cause the new body style coming out. and thats also why I don't understand Mercedes making the S65 with the current body style.

AND, one thing I hate is car companies coming out with new bodystyles. Some cars need it, but for cars like the S-class....WHY CHANGE A GOOD THING? I know cars grow on people but compare...

I generally like it, looks pretty good. The overall look is rather A8 like. The Fenders are very Ford Focus.

Be willing to bet MB didn't even glance at the Ford focus when designing this car. they probably designed this car and the fenders "worked" on the car. Probably a matter of coincidence.

I hope that in designing a $70-130k full-sized luxury car MB did not consider a $12k econobox! :p

In MB's defense, I think the look they're going for is the large, bulbous fenders of 1920's and 1930's luxury cars. Which works, kinda sorta... they need to do a REAL widebody conversion to get the full effect though IMO. Did you see the widebody CLS in Japan from the last Autoweek?

When I saw it, I got a good look at the interior and it's totally a 7 series rip off interior.
