But the good news is I learned something new about my 308...the last belt service was done at LoD. I am not completely sure of the relationship but "Lanzante" was the partner business name. Jonathan sort of made the early part of my day on that one.

Oh well, I am not going to be able to get Ric's 308. Dr Who is back in the driver's seat. Thank you for the chance Ric and Dale. Jonathan, work on that math!

I am just learning about an interesting one here in Houston with a bit of a political past to it. Will have to look into it this weekend. 94 Challenge TB.

I have found a buyer for my 308 and the sale is expected to close next Saturday (7/30/05) - buyer is flying in for a personal inspection. Assuming all goes well I am buying Ric's 348 (through Lamborghini of Dallas). Hope to be up there on the following Sat early to pick it up and blow some soot out all the way back to Houston.

Another Fchatter was still in the process of buying the car (I have not asked about the delay - I only know Ric is probably has about as much patience as a starved shark).

My buyer has completely solidified now...closing all the money details now (on hold as I type). Talked with Johnathon at LoD earlier to make sure I knew what the fees (or lack thereof in this case - unlike some dealers they are not adding) were going to add up to

 

I would have to guess based on the information I have now that I will be up there on Friday 8/5 around 3ish. Latest would be Sat morning when LoD opens. I could probably do it earlier but my buyer may need as few days to get his shipper to schedule the pick up (buyer is in Oregon). Like a sane man, he is coming to Houston early in the morning.

 

My buyer knows his shipping agent personally - he had this lined up prior to talking to anyone about Ferraris.

 

Negotiations with my buyer fell through. He was supposed to fly in last Saturday (7/30). On Thursday evening he decided he wanted a PPI (which he did no research on and expected me to find a mechanic for him). Got that set up. then while I was on the way to the PPI (on Friday mid day during my !@%@#% lunch) he calls the mechanic and tells him he wants a compression test (knowing I was not leaving the car with someone I never met). So now instead of the PPI taking a few hours it takes 4 hours (and now the mechanic is ticked off). Passed the compression test just fine by the way. After the PPI he starts bickering on price and also expects me to accept a personal check - that pretty much ended it. Well, the Corn Flakes box has another flake now. Once he told me he wanted me to help pay for his shipping and he was comletely surprised I would not take a personal check I broke off contact.

Fortunately, Ric had a quick moving buyer show up. I have waited to say anything until today so his buyer did not flake on him (too). Ric has now sold his very nice 348. Dangit.

I did get another buyer offering to send me a check with shipping today, all I needed to do is give him all of my personal information and bank/routing number and he'd gladly send the money. I did ask politely if I had to provide the vaseline for what came next. Report filed with IFCC.

yup - I forgot to say his buyer is in Dallas (or surrounding area). I think his name is Ryan...congrats to him.

 

And there is more...it has been over a week since Corn Flake Buyer boy had his PPI done at European Auto Technik here in Houston and Flake-boy has still not paid. I am now happy I decided to write "all payment the responsibility of Dr. Joseph <Censored> of Portland , OR" on the mechanic's work release. He told Mike he would send him a check a week ago. Mike had to contact me to get his number. I wish I could bill that nugget for my wasted time.

84,300 something as of yesterday (just took a pic for someone).

Yea, I know. My apologies for venting. Very frustrating. So much so 2004 Z06s (especially the Z16 kit) are looking awfully tempting.
