That's why I have and carry a SigSauer P245. I have 100% trust in that piece. Never had a jam with any of my Sigs.

There you go. If you want a double action get a nice Sig, single action: 1911.

Years ago, somebody did a DA conversion on the 1911...I am trying to say Seecamp, but my memory fails...but that is some sort of a DA conversion.

Fish78, you correctly guessed an important part of the puzzle, the Seecamp double-action trigger modification (good job!). It's a long story, but the gun is actually an ASAI (American Sporting Arms Industry), assembled and finished at the original Detonics facility near Seattle, made up from unused inventory from the ODI Viking company. I don't think any similar guns ever made it to the market, these were sample pieces that went to company shareholders. A good friend of mine was an exec at the company.

If you allow for the 2 second fumble and the 8 seconds for picking it up off the ground and wiping the dirt off and the 6 seconds involved in reshucking after the short shuck. :)

I've got one that was my uncles before he died. It was a remington rand mil-spec gun and I guess was bought as surplus. It was fitted with a mark IV series 70 barrel, bo-mar sights, and had the trigger pressure reduced to 4 lbs. It also has some type of internal work done but I have no idea what it was.
