What's stopping you from getting a rear spoiler?

  1. No, I would never get one regardless of it's looks.

  2. Yes, I would get one but there just aren't any good looking ones out.

F-car doesn't need one, unless it's a racing machine. Most cars don't need one, it make the car looks silly. But fully modified car can look better with the whole body kit plus spoiler.

Well, this is not a good example...ha ha ha, but a good try by RE Amemiya in Japan on the 2nd gen RX-7 (FC3S to the ricer, and me).

Yes I would get one, but ONLY if was available from the factory with one. For example, yes for a 348/355. I like the challenge wings. No for the 308/328 unless we're tralking about the roof spoiler, then OK.

I've only seen one good looking wing for a 348.

I love the rear of the 355 with the little upturned lip. You don't need anymore of a spoiler than that.

I would only be curious to see an F-40 without a wing for a second. Just to see how it looks. Then put the wing back on.

I have been trying to find a picture of a rear spoiler I saw for the 84-96 Vettes but can't seem to find one to help make my point.

I agree with many here who think that some cars just can't be improved upon. Even I can't imagine a spoiler that would improve a 348 or a TestaRossa. But I think the world of rear spoilers is so narrow now that there's so much more that could be done that people have no idea what they're missing.

Personally, I think I could come up with a pretty good one for the GTS line. Something like we haven't seen. I just wish I knew how to do it!

Those bolt on wings are so uninspiring, as were most on the Lotus Esprits. I tend to think the world is shy a few designers, because rear spoilers sure look like they haven't been given much thought, except for that Porsche one I posted earlier. THAT is a piece of art.

On a regular or less expensive car, I MIGHT put on a spoiler... for example, on my 3rd gen RX-7 (FD, for RX-7 owners), I would have put one on if there wasn't already one there... without it, it looks incomplete.

HOWEVER, I could never do it on a Ferrari... it would hurt too much...

A Couple of Pics of my road registered 355 challenge car with spoiler. I really like the aggresive look it gives.

Theoretically I would buy one. I don't think I will ever see one that I think looks good or enhances the look of a Ferrari. I like the fact that Ferrari's are designed to provide good handling without additional aerodynamic aids. Maybe it's just that I don't have a race car, which seems to go better with the function over aesthetic argument.

Yeah but now you've got some guy using your gorgeous black 355 as a leaning post.

For a long time, I've thought about buying an extra hood and having a custom scoop and cold air box fabricated to get some ram air to those three deuces and kustomize a little...the spoiler and ground effects at sides, front, and rear would complete it--the ultimate 4-headlight 330 2+2.

OK, I'll say it first...that piece is sweeeeet!!!
Not too big, shares some ideas with the rest of the rear...nice, or should I say VERY nice job!

If you want to tell us more about how it was made I know I'm all ears.

    Best!
