MS less than 3 seconds up on Ralf, and Ralf closing fast. Been a while since we've seen Ralf have a good race, eh? Good job for him, lets see the brothers battle it out for 2nd (but please, don't take each other out!)

Got to love today's commentary - those guys are so great! They provide some great commentary - comparing Fisi to Baja racing; the campfire situation at Sauber.

Meanwhile the real battle is MS and RS - 2.9 difference. Back to tv - no more commercials.

I know, I was about to comment on that. Hobbs & Matchett are awesome commentators! Varsha must go insane just trying to keep those 2 in line.

Ralf right on Michaels's diffuser, giving it all that Toyota can give!

Final lap, Kimi can now enjoy that sandwich that Hobbs was talking about earlier and still win.

Anyone else have problems with Speed TV this morning? Had to watch live timing and follow along on the thread.

The cable company says it's "the network" - not them. Yeah, right!

CBS last week and now this!

No problems with SpeedTV here, sounds like a local problem. I'd ring them a new one (the cable company, I mean)! You missed out on a great race!

EDIT: As soon as I say that, the F1 feed cuts out during the anthems. Not a SpeedTV problem though, thats the F1 feed itself.

Way to go Ferrari!!! Congratulations team.

Darn the Hungarian tv - picture disappearing during the Finnish anthem.

Great race, great way to spend a Sunday morning. Onto Turkey . .

    Carol

NO problem here in central Texas with SpeedTv - minor problem at Podium festivities but that's the Hungarian link.

As expected, no champagne spray for Kimi, in honor of the chef who died this past week.

Been a while since Toyota had a podium, that guy almost dropped the champagne bottle! That would have really sucked!

I dont know if i would go that far. In my view it is another lucky poduim finish. Ferrari needs to get this tire degredation problem figured out. 1 second faster durring qualifying yet an average of 0.5 sec slower over the entire race. While some improvements have been made the Mclaren is still light years ahead.

I just noticed they said that JPM had a driveshaft failure possibly caused by his hitting the generator of BAR on the grid before the start.

This tire wear on the inside shoulder confuses me.
If the tires wears on the inside, and has tread left on the outside, why not just change the camber so it wears evenly?

If you do this it will give the car more grip but it will also slow down the car by creating more rolling friction.

It works on the same principle as a road racing bicycle with skinny tires less contact = less friction = more speed.

As the car goes into the corner the tire flexes and gives the inside tire a full contact patch. the negative camber is even more on the front as the front tire does not have to put the power to the ground.

Fantastic performance by Michael. A well deserved podium for Ferrari and Bridgestone.

All the hard work is paying off. The next race should be interesting. The Istanbul Speedpark (Turkey) looks like a fun track.

    The revival has started!

Positive waves! Remember in Kelly's Heros - no negative waves . . If I have learned one thing in life, it was taught to me by a very tiny little filly that lived in our house/went to work with me and changed our life totally for eight short months - Emma taught us the MOST important thing in life - "Don't Give Up, Don't EVER Give Up".

The tires didn't look nearly as bad in prior races but improvement is still a necessity.

That was pretty stupid for hitting the generator - how could you not see it. Also, is it legal in F1 to have your tires not pointed straight ahead but very definitely pointed into the direction of the inside line?

    Impy,

Put away your Ferrari Pom Pom's. Ferrari got there asses handed to them on a platter again. A fantastic performance and well deserved podium would have been if Michael was waxing kimi's tail at the finish.

It amounted to a 2nd place handed to them by the unfortunate luck of other drivers.

Sorry i don't agree. The comment made that Ferrari would no longer develop the F2005 for the rest of the season in my book is the best news i heard from Ferrari in a while.

Take the stress off of the team, Relax, Regroup and focus on the V-8 F2006

I told John yesterday and again this morning that going back to Maranello for another F1 Test Day is definitely in order especially with the V-8's. See you there Impy!!

You will have to kill me to accomplish that.
Ferrari always, till I die! :)

I have already inquired regarding the dates and also the launch of the F2006.

Next year the hunted becomes the hunter... shades of 1999 and 2000. :)

Exactly. Next time JPM and Alonso will be there as well again.

Fisichella is so useless it is painful to watch.

It was a well planned race and Ferrari did the best they could with what they had. Congrats to the team and MS.
