Well obviously there is no direct connection between Keke and Ferrari, but I'm such a sucker for the old names.

I have been bashing Keke in the past for his "free" WC title and that still stands, but having names like Lauda, Rosberg, Villeneuve and Piquet back in F1 just brings back great memories. That's all.

So instead of putting an underperformer like Massa in the 2nd seat, I'd rather see a name from the past. Even if we don't really know at this time how he'll handle F1. My rationale for putting Rosberg in that seat is at this moment purely emotional. My rationale for NOT putting Massa in that seat is IMHO logical.

 

I would like to see Rubens go somewhere where he can shine and maybe challange Shumy, (not he's he's dominating this year anyway) I feel bad that he's always has to take a seat behing Michael and will as long as he stays at Ferrari, He deserves to be able to excel.

 

I think if Rubens gets into a car that is truly fast he can drive like the wind. If the car is not up to par it seems as if he does not have any motivation just as in the past few races with Ferrari. If he does go to BAR and the car is crap he will drive around collecting a pay check just like JV did at BAR.

 

Anyone else hear Bob Varsha on Wind Tunnel saying Ferrari was looking at DC for next year as well? Interesting............

 

Think about it, If anyone could help Ferrari with thier troubles it's DC. See what's he's done for Red Bull? It would be easy to get him being that Ferrari is Red Bull engine supplier next year.

True. Villeneuve in the Ferrari doesn't do any good for the team, only for my heart.


Massa in the Ferrari doesn't too much good either. They need a more solid #2. Massa has his moments, but he also has his bad moments and sometimes he has no moments at all. There are better choices out there.

 

Massa in the Ferrari would be a waste of the car. He's only marginally better than Villeneuve in the Sauber and the benchmark for how well Villeneuve is driving is the dismal job he did with the Renault at the end of last season.

They should pick up a GP2 driver for a couple of years and develop him from the ground up. When Micheal steps out of the car he won't be interested in seeing a driver with his own ideas filling the number one position for the team.

If the Scuderia wants to prepare for the future they shouldn't waste the next two years.

I like Massa, but I would actually like to see DC get the Ferrari ride at least for one year. He is the epitome of a gentleman racer I think.

 

Rubens has been playing 2nd fiddle to MS for a long time, and now that the car is barely competitive, why should he bother making any real effort?

I see the problem as being about the way the team is organized and has been run; not a lack of driving skills on Ruben's part..

I have my opinion on MS, but I would never call him an underperformer. Quite the opposite indeed.

Agreed. Yesterday MS drove the heck out of the car on more fuel than Kimi had and they both pulled away from almost everyone else. Was the Ferrari the fastest car yesterday - not by a long shot. But an underperformer?

Did MS have more fuel, or did McLaren change the strategy so they wouldn't be stuck behind MS?

 

Kimi hasn't decide if he wants to stay with McLaren. Lets say FA wins the WC in Brazil or Japon thanks to a not so reliable McLaren, Kimi and Ferrari could happen. IMO

 

RB is leaving Ferrari. When will he announce it? When he feels like it...

I heard that on Wind Tunnel too. All this stuff is purely speculation - good for Rubens and his comments and here's something pretty positive from Christian Horner, whom I think would know what he's talking about rather than the rumor mongers in F1:

"One wild rumour spinning in Hungary was that David Coulthard could leave Red Bull for Ferrari, who will be supplying their engines to the team, with Massa taking his seat on a temporary basis.

This is the way of the silly season and Red Bull boss Christian Horner dismissed such speculation out of hand.

"There have never been any discussions or any thought about that," he said.

"David will be driving a Ferrari in 2006, but it will be a Red Bull Racing Ferrari. We are delighted to have him as part of the team, which is why I moved to secure his services earlier in the year."

They should put Ralf in the #2 Car. Brother Vs. Brother in Ferrari's..... Would make for some great racing.....
