The September 2005 issue of Road & Track provides a "Road Test Update" of the Maserati Gransport. The acceleration figures are pretty good (0-60 4.8sec, 0-100 11.4sec, 1/4 mile 13.2 @ 109.2mph). The handling and braking figures were even better. The slalom was an astounding 72.2mph...blowing away such cars as the Gallardo (68.6), F430 Spider (70.9), Porsche Carrera GT (71.1), Porsche GT2 and GT3 (68.7). In fact only 3 cars tested have beaten that figure, Lotus Elise (72.6), Ferrari Enzo (73.0) and Porsche Boxster S (73.9). Quite an achievement for a fairly heavy GT car. The braking from 80-0 was accomplished in very respectible 199ft. It also pulled .88g's on the skidpad. All around it was a fine showing. Unfortunately, R&T devoted only 4 small paragraphs to the Gransport. They fit the tests of the BMW M3 Competition Package, Ferrari 430 Spider and Gransport all on the same page. All 3 cars deserve a full layout article....what were they thinking???
