    Really cool story in Autocar featuring test drive of 2 Atoms in LA. Ariel founder, Simon Saunders, has just signed a licensing deal with Oregon based Brammo Motorsports. Cars will prob feature GM engines and cost around $40k. Orders can be placed this wk !

    $40,000 is a bit much for what you're getting, I think.

    I mean, what is that thing really? A tubular steel frame with a seat, tires and an engine? Even given the premium you pay because of the low volume, I don't think that's worth twice the price of a Honda Civic.

    And lets not forget the GM engines. Type R engine, light 2,0L 8,500 rpm or some heavy domestic lump with a diesel like red-line.
