oil question?

    The manual says to use 5w 40 motor oil. So that's what I've been using ( Mobil 1 ) but now I can't find it, I only find 0w 40, would that be OK to use?

    My estimation is that it's even better.
    Most of the engine wear occur on startup so "thinner" the oil, the easier it is to lubricate from cold. Since you are not changing the "40" weight for under normal driving conditions, the oil should perform the same as before.

    Now if you were to ask, how about 0-30 - that would be a different ball game, and I'm sure the answer would be "it depends".

    I'm sure other will chime in and correct me if necessary. If you have the time, check out the Bible of motor oil by Aehaas. Just perform a search, and get comfortable.

    Yes, I use it, as do several other 355 owners I know.
