Does anybody know where I might locate an AC pressure cut-off switch for an '85' 308? I have tried Rutlands, Sodacom, AW and All Italian parts with no luck. The part # is 100460. Is there a clone replacement part that will work? Any words of wisdom are welcome. Thanks, Branko

The Ferrari 4 post crossfitting from my 1984 308 requires 10mm x 1.0 pressure switch.
Most pressure switches (like mercedes, volvo & saab) are 3/8 x 24 thread. The 3/8 x 24 switch is wooblie in the Ferrari fitting and gives you a total of .026" thread engagement, as opposed the .046" with the correct part. In my opinion, this is not acceptable, especially at 200-300psi. I wouldn't use the 3/8 x 24 switch.

    I could not find a 10mm x 1.0 pressure switch.

I machined an aluminum adapted to go from 10mm x 1.0 to 3/8 x 24 and used the european switch.

    Branko -

100460 is NLA from Ferrari and was superseded with 95320033. It's a whole receiver kit now, and pricing is still *somewhat* available from Ferrari, but the item would be sourced in Italy (3 week leadtime).

Pricing is disastrous, insulting, criminal, or tragic... whichever adjective you prefer:

when I converted my 308 to 134-a , I had to disconnect the pressure switch. the 134-a needs higher pressures to work and it just would not get cool enough at lower pressure. I wish I could find a direct replacement that was for about 25 lbs higher pressure

Yeah, factor in shipping, exchange rates, and import taxes, and we're probably not too far off.

Hmmm. interesting I had my car converted over to 134-a last year. To the best of my knowledge they did not disconnect the pressure switch. My A/C blows about 42 degrees on high... Now I do need a new fan switch (the one on the console) ... mines wobbly and I'm afraid sooner or later it will breakoff it's mount.

My Euro '82 308 is converted to R134a, w/ original pressure switch. Also blows in low 40s once it's been running a while & gotten past the initial heat load.

Also have converted a couple of other 308s to R134a & no problems from the high pressure switch. Don't have my conversion notes handy, but pressures weren't as much higher than R12 as I was expecting. Also the system seems to work better if I slightly under-fill with R134a which keeps the pressures down.

If you search in the old fchat archives Kelly Vince did a write up with a frigette part number that worked great. I converted my whole system in my ex-308, (compressor, expansion valve, pressure switch , drier) for under $300.00

Greg the below is what I did to convert to 134A
This weekend at 88 I got 50 to 55 at the vent.
Below was my problem and how I fixed it.

In my case it was a clogged expansion valve. the drier had gone bad

Thanks for all the great input. Not sure which way I will proceed. Will talk to my mechanic and see what he thinks.
