Have a 1988 Mondial 3.2 cab and there seems to be a continual fallout of a yellowish powder inside the car - appears to be coming from the convertible top itself (perhaps the liner?). Anyone else have a similar experience? Any suggestions how to rectify?

    Thanks.

Can't say for the convertible top, but the 60's cars have a problem with the seat foam going hard and turning to yellow dust. You would see this around the seat hinge though, so it would be pretty obvious.

Are pine trees are pollinating where you are (lots of yellow powder over everything then), but that's mostly in spring isn't it?

The foam in the liners of everything in my Dino produced the same mess. Yellowish brown (kind of baby poop colored) dust that fell about me in tiny little showers when I hit a bump. Very fine powdery substance.

There's another foam that lines some of the panels that also seems to spit out this stuff.

I took out my headliner, and put new heat resistant foam in, which solved the problem there.

Thank you, that sounds like the same symptoms. With a newborn I know what the color is you're referring to, and, yes, just about exactly the same color (doesn't have the same smell thank god). Looks like it'll be a top replacement before this problem is solved.

    Thanks again.

The top boot on my dad's 348 Spider does the same thing. Kind of looks like the color of Gerber baby food strained peas.......no, wait, more like avocado dip with a hint of lime.

A strange power coming out of an exotic car made in the eighties. Hmm.
