Sorry, let me clarify...It would kill the question about why there is only one intake...I get asked that all the time. No one has ever asked you when looking at your car why there is only an intake on the right side? That was all, sorry for the confusion. Mike
You could always rip out the ac and get rid of the hole altogether Andy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, I'm handy, to the point of thinking it's a curse. I changed all the belts and the front main seal with the engine in place this winter. NEVER AGAIN, what a pain in the a-s. But this is pretty simple. Remove the spoiler [easy]. Used a small ceramic cutoff disc to cut out the hole after matching a template from the other side made from cardboard. You build the box behind the hole with fiberglass mat [cause it's stiff] and brush on enough resin to make it rigid. After I was happy with the final shape, I re-did it in fiberglass cloth for strength. After that, it's just working with fiberglass jelly and standard body work. I sprayed it red, but I'm no painter. I have a friend lined up to finish it correctly.
Andy, How much weight did you save by removing the AC? The AC is about as much use as a chocolate toothbrush in my car - weedy, and pointless anyway in a Spider. The hole itself doesn't bother me though. I see it as part of the 348's (odd) character Jas
