Anybody up for a drive out this Sunday? There was talk in another thread of possibly meeting up at Boxhill at 9 o'clock so I thought I'd make it official cos I haven't been on a drive out in about 27 years(sure seems that long) Maybe drive to Legoland and get a bumper box of Lego to play with on the journey home? Ok, maybe not. I'm open to suggestions as to destination, that's assuming anybody wants to join me
Would like to do somethimg early Sunday as my car is being collected for a service on Monday and I won't get it back until after my holiday about 3 weeks later. However, can't travel too far as I have something on from lunch time on Sunday.
Good fellow Graham, consider yourself "joined"! 'twas me muttering about this Sunday. Myself, davidgt4 and 208gt4 (the GT4 gang) are meeting on the 14th at 9 ish (Boxhill) so I can borrow a Nomex suit from David for the Brighton Speed Trials on 10th Sept. Naturally we're gonna scare the good people of sleepy Surrey after a bacon roll or two, and all are welcome to join this gathering. Hope to see plenty of you there. p.s. you've aged well in the 27 years since I last saw you at Conkers and Brighton Marina a few weeks before that
I'd be up for it so long as the weather's decent But, did you know the Essex boys are planning on a meet on Sunday morning with a drive through a local long tunnel? They invited us Southerners too - despite their better judgement How about the Sussex and Kent posse go up to Essex and meet up with them, and take in some more tunnel action? Kirk348 is arranging the Essex meet.
Whilst I enjoy driving through the M25 tunnel on my way to an ultimate destination, I can't really get motivated to do a full lap of the M25 when the tunnel is the ultimate destination. Maybe it's the lure of the burgers at Box Hill
Ken Do you want to meet at your house? I'll be passing it on the way so we can have a bit of a mini convoy on the way to meet the others at Box Hill
Yes, good idea. What time are we talking about? I need to be home again pretty early. Probably by 12 at the latest.
Being home for 12 shouldn't be a problem. The other guys were planning to get to Box Hill for 9 so if I get to your place for about 8.15 -8.20 ish that should leave ample time for a bacon buttie and a quick blast in and around Surrey before heading home
That sounds good to me - 8.15 Capristo alarm call for my neighbours. Do you still have the code for the barriers?
Debated over that one but decided it was bit further than I fancied driving. Got to start cutting the miles down too, especially as I'm going onto a limited mileage policy
