it's more than that i suspect, mhh's cam has a great image-stabilizer, your's doesn't appear to. the worst thing about my footage is the amatuer zooming and panning and stuff, i'm trying to track down a post-processing stabilizer for yours...
I think it did get better on the last few days, as it definately wasn't as bumpy. However you are right about the stabilizer - would have been good to have one (do on the still camera). Anyway time for some pics - they are all ready to go. I have ended up with 234 "keepers" so if you want to see something particular then ask otherwise I will just pick out certain ones. The first two are at Neville's place - his garages have never looked so good! Then we have a shot from inside the CS at high speed, as you can see we were driving down the middle of the road. Finally whats left of the bird the GT2 decided to eat for lunch.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
First chance to read your forum guys.... Just completed almost 2500kms of outback driving for the business. Spent the first night at the rock and yes it looked exactly like last month!! Firstly Cheryl wants to sincerely thank Roger and Robert for the huge bunch of flowers that she received. She was so thrilled!! Thankyou for sharing your time with me in the centre. My car hasn't been even washed as I left Tuesday at dawn. This weekend I will get it out to stretch the legs at the 300 again. I guess you all have an appreciation of the fun I enjoy just being a Territorian. You are all great blokes and Cheryl and I would love to have any of you visit socially with you partner or family. If it is on next year I promise to get the thing a lot better organised and am sorry the meal on the first night was a mess. For me it was great to have so many of the worlds best cars as company. I hope that you will include me in any CD's or video created. This to me as to you all will be an event that may not be possible in the future and will be cherished by us all. If you had the resources to come but didn't you should be very very sad. What everyone shared last weekend can't be replicated. Please keep in touch Kindest regards Neville and Cheryl King Photo courtesy of Jan Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good to hear from you Neville! Since you are here I'll post a couple of your V12 beast. Firstly just posing somewhere, then returning from a race with Roger in the GT2, Neville's evil smile as we race him in the CS and then at Glen Helen on Monday. BTW, I won't post pics from the helicopter yet just incase MOTOR want to use them in the mag. Neville, I guess I'll get to love my Adelaide Hills roads again, but at the moment I can't get motivated to drive them. I'm worried you might have ruined us for good! Edit : I'm burning the DVD's for you right now.
Here is another little selection for you guys. Looking at some of these shots I wish I had a video camera in my other hand, some of these situations would have looked awesome on video. Especially the CS from the top of the carpark. There is a photo of the sandblasting that occured on the GT2's windscreen as well as one of the cop in the side mirror. Also one of the Murcielago and the CS sidebyside. As I haven't worked out how to keep these sharp when I upload them, if any of you guys who came want a full res copy of any of these just email me, they are over a mb each though. when you resize and save them, keep the quality to around 80% or so, those images are full of artefacts and look like have been saved with 25% quality. pity i never took a shot when the Murci and CS were side-by-side at 270 or whatever... i just remember we're cruising along in the Murci, then i see out the periphery of my vision a red nose, look around and there's scud and dingo grinning like cheshire cats.
I'm trying to remember if I took video of us coming back through from in car. Hopefully Chris can let us know.
haha....love the shot of the CS and Murci side-by-side! That really was exciting (or scary). Heres a few more pics.... 1,2. A couple of group drive-bys that MOTOR organised. 3. Scud in the middle of the road ready for a 0-200 test - which I captured on tape also. 4. gekko's 360 at some scenic place - forgot the name already. 5. The place where Les had his off-road experience at 220kmh after crossing a sleeping Landcruiser driver. Guys....... i don't harly ever post, and i've been sitting back taking all these shots in.................... Amazing photography, amazing scenery and must have been an amazing time.
Well what an awesome thread...thanks to everyone who posted pictures, you really conveyed the thrill of the experience in a vivid way. The quality of the pictures was excellent, but perhaps whats awesome is that you guys were there using cars as the makers intended and for that I give you huge credit. Only wish I could have been there....
definitely was! thing is, most of the shots so far are from when we had a chance to breathe and pose a bit...
first of the videos!!!! here's the Murcielago overtaking the 360 Spider, over a nice aussie outback icon... the cattle grid. this vid is so totally overprocessed so i can just upload it to fchat (max size 488kb) for now until i get our website going. comparison pics are from original quality compared to what you're seeing here, sound is equally overprocessed... final stuff will be DVD quality. you're just jealous because we talked about this trip years ago and everyone poo pooed it, I think they planned the video quite well by using the hairdresser car to run block, alert and capture video from....who said they were only good for latte runs
Thanks Ash.....I hope everyone appreciates the risk my camera took to get those overtaking videos. The CS overtaking will be the best one, scud was really flying and the sound of that thing is just amazing!
Some more pics - this time some moving action to keep Ash happy. 1. The Gallardo arriving at a stop point after visiting the Olgas 2. Being overtaken by the CS - always entertaining. 3. Risky shot this one (for my head) - looking over the GT2's big arse at the Gallardo. 4. Two Lambo's on the horizon - nice sight. I'm copying the videos that Ash and Dingo took and burning them to DVD. If any Outback participants would like a copy of the DVDs, please PM me your details and I'll mail them out to you. These are the raw originals with all the flaws you would expect pre-editing.
Today I went for a quick run and gave the Murcie a proper bath after her "weekend out with the girls". I have to say that the town is literally a buzz and has been all week with every one talking about you guys visiting. Everyone is asking what it was all about. Nobody seems to understand that is just a bunch of guys having a good time. God knows I get lots of attention normally but now I got mobbed by people I know wanting to talk about all the cars in Alice last weekend. You are all famous. I reckon Mark Henders Lambo was the most noticed car from the comments but most didn't know it was a Lambo. Once you guys recover from the trip I reckon lets do it all again. I will take you to Kings Canyon and we can do the run north for the people that want to stomp on the 332km/hr that Scud pulled. Image Unavailable, Please Login
